Butyldiglycol Acetate is a clear, high-boiling, low-volatility, slightly hygroscopic liquid with a mild ester-type odour. 
Butyldiglycol Acetate is freely miscible with most common organic solvents, but miscible with water only between certain limits.
Owing to its ether bonds and ester groups, Butyldiglycol Acetate enters into the reactions that are characteristic of ethers and esters, and it possesses their solvent power. 
For instance, Butyldiglycol Acetate dissolves – particularly at elevated temperatures – numerous natural and synthetic resins, plasticizers, waxes, fats and oils.
