CALCIUM FORMATE
DESCRIPTION
Synonyms: Ca (HCOO) 2 , Calcium salt of formic acid, HCOOH.
Calcium formate (also known as food additive E238 in the food industry) is a white powder, reacts with air moisture, alkaline. It is used in grouting, self-leveling floors, tile adhesives, plasters, plasters, in the manufacture of Portland cement, concrete, to accelerate the curing process or as an anti-freeze additive. It is recommended to add 1–2% calcium formate to 100% Portland cement, but not more than 2.5%. Portland cement is the most efficient type of cement. The maximum effect of the use of calcium formate is achieved when the SO2 content in Portland cement is less than 3%. The optimal value is from 2 to 2.5%. For aluminate cement, a higher amount of calcium formate is required: approximately 10 - 12% for 100% aluminate.

Application

Calcium formate can also be used as an anti-freeze additive:

for a temperature of 10 ° C, 1% calcium formate is added to 100% cement; for a temperature of 15 ° C - 2% calcium formate for 100% cement.
As an anti-freeze additive:

works at a temperature of - 10 ° С, concentration 1%;
at a temperature of 15 ° C, a concentration of 2% calcium formate per 100 kg of cement.

Packing: bags, 25 kg.
