Diisopropyl adipate is a fatty acid ester and an isopropyl ester.
Diisopropyl adipate or C12H22O4 is a chemical compound belonging to the functional group of the esters of adipic acid and isopropanol. 
Diisopropyl adipate is a colorless or yellowish liquid, used as a flavoring and odorant in the food industry and in the manufacture of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. 
Usually Diisopropyl adipate is formed by a condensation reaction or by esterification of Fischer-Speyer with sulfuric acid as a catalyst.
