DOA PLASTICIZER
DESCRIPTION
Synonyms:  Di- (2-ethylhexyl) ester of adipic acid; di- (2-ethylhexyl) adipate; diisooctyl adipate; 1,4-butanedicarboxylic acid di- (2-ethylhexyl) ester; bis- (2-ethylhexyl) adipate; dioctyl adipate; DOA, DOA.

DOA plasticizer is a transparent liquid, odorless and colorless, soluble in most organic solvents, miscible with most plasticizers used in PVC processing. Under normal conditions the product is resistant to hydrolysis.

Method of production
DOA production is based on the reaction of adipic acid with 2-ethylhexanol. The reaction catalysts are acids and alkalis.
Application

DOA is mainly used in combination with phthalate plasticizers for PVC processing. This gives excellent resistance to low temperatures. DOA may come in contact with food.
