EXOLIT OP 560

Exolit OP 560 is a flame retardant specifically designed for flexible polyurethane foams.
As a reactive flame retardant, Exolit OP 560 can be chemically reacted into the PU matrix, preventing unwanted migration from the material.

Therefore, Exolit OP 560 allows meeting the most stringent VOC requirements of the automotive industry and has shown best-in-class performance in demanding low-emission applications.
Exolit OP 560 is an easily-to-handle low-viscosity liquid, with a functionality of approx. 2.

Exolit OP 560 has been confirmed as an alternative anticipated to be safer for use in upholstered polyurethane foam« by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U. S. EPA, August 2015, EPA 744-R-15-002)

Exolit OP 560 is a flame retardant that can be used for flexible polyurethane foams.
Exolit OP 560 is a medium-viscosity liquid and Exolit OP 560 is based on a non-halogenated phosphorus polyol.

Exolit OP 560 is a reactive flame retardant which can be chemically reacted into the polymeric matrix.
Therefore, very low fogging values can be achieved which meet the most
stringent emission standards for PU flexible foams in the automotive industry

Exolit OP 560 is a highly reactive, halogen-free, medium viscosity phosphorus polyol.
Acts as a flame retardant designed for PU flexible foams in the automotive industry.

Exolit OP 560 can be chemically reacted into the polymeric matrix.
Exhibits very low fogging and high phosphorus content.
Shelf life of Exolit OP 560 is 12 months.

Exolit OP 560 non-halogenated flame retardant is safer and a more sustainable alternative to volatile and scrutinized flame retardants such as halogenated and non-halogenated phosphate esters (e. g. TCPP1).
Exolit OP 560 is a reactive flame retardant which chemically binds into the polymeric matrix, effectively preventing unwanted migration from the foam.

Exolit OP 560 is an excellent choice for upholstering anything from car seats to padded doors, headliners and panels.
Lower fogging and volatile organic carbon (VOC)2 values can be achieved which meet stringent emission standards for PUR flexible foams in the automotive industry.

Furthermore, due to regulatory scrutiny several phosphate esters might be banned from usage in various products in the near future.
Being a non-hazardous, liquid, non-halogenated phosphorus polyol, Exolit OP 560 poses no additional risk to health and environment, and does not contribute to harmful VOC emissions.

The Exolit product family was the pioneer in non-halogenated flame retardants that could withstand the demanding requirements of different high end segments for plastics.

Formulations containing Exolit OP 560 and special synergists for seating, mattress and packaging applications have been developed and subjected to extensive FR testing.
Foams can meet stringent FR requirements for applications such as upholstery & furniture, aviation and marine.
Disclosure of proprietary formulations and joint development projects are in principle possible under respective confidentiality agreements.

Plastic components connected to electrically live metal parts tend to burn easily and must comply with strict fire safety regulations.
Therefore electronic devices have to be protected by flame retardants, which prevent or delay the development and spread of fires in various ways.
Exolit OP offers a product family of tailor-made flame retardants based on non-halogenated organic phosphorus compounds which are a safe and environmental compatible alternative to traditional ones.

Non-halogenated Exolit OP 560 is an excellent choice for upholstering anything from car seats to padded doors, headliners and panels.
Exolit OP 560 has been confirmed as a preferable flame retardant for polyurethane foams by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Applications of Exolit OP 560:
Exolit OP 560 is primarily suited for flame-retarded flexible PU foams, including both polyether- and polyester polyol-based materials.
Typical application examples include production of automotive slabstock and molded foam.

FMVSS 302 class SE foams can be achieved with dosages of 2-8 php, depending on the density.
Due to high efficiency, lower phosphorus content compared to other FRs does not need to be compensated with higher dosages.

Particularly suitable for end-applications with most stringent emission requirements, e.g. children car seats.
Exolit OP 560 can replace scrutinized volatile flame retardants including TCPP.

Application in other PU material types like integral skin foam, coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers is also possible.
Exolit OP 560 is particularly suitable for self-formulating PU producers. Long-term storage in water-containing PU systems is not recommended.

Exolit OP 560 is primarily designed for use in the production of special low fogging flexible polyurethane foams.
The product is characterized by a high phosphorus content and high flame retardancy performance.

Exolit OP 560 is a reactive flame retardant, designed to be chemically reacted into the polymeric matrix.
When properly incorporated into the foam, very low fogging values can be achieved which meet the most stringent emission standards for PU flexible foams in the automotive industry.

Exolit OP 560 should be added separately because Exolit OP 560 is only partially soluble in polyols with low hydroxyl numbers.
As a reactive flame retardant Exolit OP 560 will hydrolyze slowly in the presence of water.

Packaging and Handling of Exolit OP 560:
