Foaming behaviour of Hostapon CGN:
Hostapon CGN shows good foaming behaviour, particularly in the acidic range.
When determining the foaming power of Hostapon CGN (e.g. by the ROSSMILES method), excellent foaming values are obtained in the pH range 4-7.

Maximum foaming is obtained in the region of pH 5.5.
In formulations, Hostapon CGN improves the overall foam structure.

Viscosity in mixtures with other surfactants:
As a co-surfactant in rinse-off formulations, Hostapon CGN typically shows a slight viscosity-reducing effect.
By using commonly used consistency modifiers (e.g. Genapol LA 030 (Laureth-3)), Sodium Laureth Sulfate based formulations can be easily adjusted to convenient viscosities.

Addition of small amounts of sodium chloride facilitates viscosity build up.
Further the use of Coco Betaine (Genagen KB) is highly recommended for effective viscosity building.

Surface activity of Hostapon CGN:
Hostapon CGN shows marked surface and interfacial activity.
Above that critical micelle concentration (CMC about 0.17 g/l), surface tension is reduced to values below 30 mN/m.
