Use
JMAC LP 10 is used as antimicrobial agent with low toxicity in a wide range of applications.
Following are some examples:

JMAC LP 10 is used in a wide pH range of 3 – 12.
The active component is a silver chloride / titanium dioxide compound which is stable in dry form to temperatures of up to 300°C without loosing antimicrobial effectiveness.
The effective dosage should be tested in appropriate challenge tests prior to use.
Typical dose levels in liquid, aqueous formulations are 0,25 – 1,0% JMAC LP 10.
JMAC LP 10 are Oeko-Tex certified auxiliaries for biological active textile finish according to the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 products with biological activity.

JMAC LP 10 acts as a biocide.
JMAC LP 10 has excellent thermal and pH stability.
JMAC LP 10 provides anti-microbial preservation.
The recommended dose level is 0.05-0.5%.
JMAC LP 10 complies with following regulations: FDA 176.170, FDA 176.180, BfR XIV and Blue angel (RAL-UZ-102).
JMAC LP 10 is a preservative active with antimicrobial properties that reduces the spread of bacteria over the long term.
The attractiveness of JMAC’s antimicrobial protection is reinforced by its low toxicity, non-sensitizing performance and very low environmental impact.
JMAC meets Ecolabel standards for use in paints and coatings.

MECHANISM OF ACTION
When JMAC LP 10 is formulated in aqueous media, a saturated solution of silver chloride is formed around the titanium dioxide particles.
Silver ions diffuse from the particles to the aqueous phase and form an equilibrium concentration.
Silver ions react destructively within microbial cells by interruption of cell membrane, enzyme inhibition and interrupting DNA.
CHEMICAL COMPATIBILITY AND STABILITY IN FORMULATIONS
JMAC LP 10 is compatible with most raw materials used in the manufacture of industrial products.
Under reducing conditions JMAC LP 10 can cause discoloration by the formation of metallic silver.
Reducing agents can give rise to rapid formation of blue-grey-pink color.
Compatibility should always be checked and evaluated before use.
When adding JMAC LP 10 to formulations of low viscosity titanium dioxide and silver chloride particles can precipitate.
To overcome sedimentation the rheology of the preparation needs to be adjusted.
JMAC LP 10 is an aqueous dispersion of silver chloride and titanium dioxide.
JMAC LP 10 acts as a biocide.

Storage and Shelf Life
Protect from exposure to cold during transport and storage.
The material is a dispersion of solid matter in water and tends to slowly separate during storage.
As a result, density and concentration may become higher at the bottom of the containers.
Mix the material well before taking a sample or before use.
Upon exposure to cold, the properties of the product are irreversibly altered.
At below 0°C, grey discoloration occurs and the product becomes inhomogeneous and separates irreversibly.
The precipitates can not be homogenized by warming up.
The storage of JMAC LP 10 at higher temperatures than room temperature (15 – 25°C) will lead to reduces shelf life.
JMAC LP 10 tends to separate and precipitates above temperatures of 40°C.
Precipitates will agglomerate and will irreversibly perish the product.
The shelf life is at least one year when stored in tightly closed containers at 20- 25°C in a clean and aerated place.
After this period the product should be analyzed for extension of the shelf life.
