Natrosol 250 GR hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) is a series of off-white powders that are easily dispersed and dissolved in cold or hot water, to produce solutions of varying viscosities. 
Chemically, Natrosol 250 GR hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) is cellulose of short to very long chain length that has been etherified to a hydroxyethyl ether to achieve an optimum balance of properties. 
Natrosol 250 GR is used as a viscosity and rheology modifier, protective colloid, water retention agent, stabilizer, and suspending agent, particularly in those applications where a nonionic material is desired.

Application: Natrosol 250 GR is used as high efficiency nonionic thickener, water retention aid and rheology modifier in all types of water-based paints and surface coatings, in adhesives, and in a variety of other aqueous industrial products.
Regular Natrosol 250 GR imparts excellent flow properties to these systems.


Natrosol 250 GR is water soluble polymer with a viscosity range of 150-400 cps, treated to delay hydration of particles preventing lumping as the powder is added to water.

Natrosol 250 GR can be used as a protective colloid, stabilizer and suspending agent.

The types of NATROSOL 250 differ in their viscosity values, hydration property, biostability and particle size distribution.

-types "R" and "D" are treated in such a way that they slow down the hydration of the particles. This treatment prevents the formation of lumps when the products are dissolved in water. 

These values ​​also apply to:

-types "B" (for example, NATROSOL 250 HBR), which are characterized by increased resistance to biological and chemical degradation,

-types that contain "X" and "W" in their name (for example, NATROSOL 250 HXR and NATROSOL 250 HHW), which have a higher degree of grinding,

-some types are produced with certain viscosities without delayed solubility (NATROSOL 250 L, G, H, etc.)


NATROSOL 250 hydroxyethyl cellulose  is a granular powder that dissolves rapidly in water to form clear, homogeneous solutions exhibiting pseudo-plastic flow properties. 
At neutral pH and normal ambient temperature, NATROSOL "R" types disperse without lumping and provide fast solubility. 
High concentrations of soluble salts do not affect these solutions. Viscosity is slightly affected by weak acids and alkalis. 
Due to its non-ionic nature, NATROSOL has a wide range of compatibility with other products such as emulsion polymers, natural and synthetic resins, emulsifiers and defoamers.
