1-Bromopropane can be synthesized by reacting n-propyl alcohol (n-propanol) with excess hydrobromic acid.

There are two main methods for preparing 1-Bromopropane.

Add hydrogen bromide to concentrated sulfuric acid, then add n-propanol and heat reflux for 0.5 hours.
Distill all the generated 1-Bromopropane at 70–75°C, then wash with concentrated hydrochloric acid and neutralize to pH 7 with sodium carbonate.
Dry with anhydrous sodium sulfate, filter, distill the filtrate, collect the fraction at 69–74°C, and obtain 1-Bromopropane.
1-Bromopropane is obtained by the reaction of n-propanol with sodium bromide.
Heat n-propanol, water, and sodium bromide to reflux, maintain at 69–72°C, and add sulfuric acid dropwise.
After the addition, continue refluxing for 2 hours.
Distill and collect the fraction at 68–100°C, wash with sodium carbonate solution to neutral, then distill and collect the fraction at 68–76°C, which is 1-Bromopropane.
