AA/AMPS is the copolymer of 2-acrylamido 2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS). Due to including carboxylic group (scale inhibition and dispersion) and sulfonic acid group (strong polarity) in this copolymer, AA/AMPS has high calcium tolerance and good scale inhibition.

In particular, for calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, and zinc scale. When built with organophosphines, the synergic effect is obvious.

AA/AMPS copolymer is suitable to be used in water quality of high pH and high alkaline, it is one of the ideal scale inhibitors and dispersants on a high concentration index.

AA/AMPS can be used as a scale inhibitor and dispersant in open circulating cool water systems, oilfield refill water systems, metallurgy systems, and iron & steel plants to prevent sediment of ferric oxide. When built with organophosphorus and zinc salt, the suitable pH value is 7.0~9.5.

AA/AMPS can also be used as dyeing auxiliaries for textile.

AA/AMPS is mainly used for scale inhibition and dispersion of open industrial circulating cooling water system, oilfield sewage reinjection system and circulating water treatment of metallurgical system, and the cooling water from iron and steel plant to prevent the deposition of Fe2O3 slime, AA/AMPS can be used in combination with organic phosphonate and zinc salt, and the suitable pH condition is 7.0~9.5. 
AA/AMPS can also be used as textile auxiliaries.

The molecular structure contains a carboxylic acid group and a strongly polar sulfonic acid group with good scale inhibition and dispersion performance, and has a significant scale inhibition effect on calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, zinc scale in water, and excellent dispersion performance. With organic phosphorus compound, synergistic effect is obvious. Especially suitable for high pH, high alkalinity, high hardness of water, is to achieve high concentration of the operation of one of the most ideal Scale Inhibitor dispersant.

Description    
AA/AMPS belongs to the class of organic compounds known as organosulfonic acids. Organosulfonic acids are compounds containing the sulfonic acid group, which has the general structure RS(=O)2OH (R is not a hydrogen atom). 
AA/AMPS is a moderately basic compound (based on its pKa).

Chemical Properties
