ADDOLINK 1604

Isobutyl 4-chloro-3,5-diaminobenzoate (CDABE)

CAS Number: 32961-44-7

Addolink 1604 has a long pot life and is suitable for large volume articles.
Addolink 1604 has good MBOCA substitute.

Addolink 1604 is an aromatic diamine.
Addolink 1604 is used as a crosslinking agent in combination with prepolymers for the manufacture of high-quality heat curing PUR elastomers, giving considerably longer casting times than other amine crosslinking agents.
If protected from moisture, Addolink 1604 has a shelf life of 12 months.

Addolink 1604 is a crosslinker.

Description of Addolink 1604:

Function of Addolink 1604:
Addolink 1604, an aromatic diamine, is used as a crosslinking agent in combination with prepolymers for the manufacture of high-quality heat curing PUR elastomers, giving considerably longer casting times than other amine crosslinking agents.

Addolink 1604 is an aromatic diamine crosslinker for heat curing polyurethane prepolymers.
Addolink 1604 provides an extended cure time (~ 3 times longer) compared with conventional amines such as DMTDA, while providing physical properties that exceed DETDA, DMTDA, and MOCA.
Specifically, Addolink 1604 produces a harder elastomer with enhanced tear strength, tensile strength, and elongation at break.

Applications of Addolink 1604:
Addolink 1604 is processed in combination with PUR prepolymers at temperatures between 90 and 100 °C.
The advantage of using Addolink 1604 as a crosslinking agent is that it enables considerably longer reaction times to be achieved so that large-volume articles can be manufactured.

Manual processing of Addolink 1604 is also possible.
Addolink 1604 is available as possibly slightly agglomerated powder which must be completely melted before processing.

No noticable effect of these agglomerates on the material properties of the finished elastomers has been observed yet.
The recommended processing temperature of Addolink 1604 is approx. 100 °C.

Temperatures above 120 °C should be avoided, as inferior elastomers will result.
The melting apparatus must be designed in such a way that temperatures above 150 °C are impossible.

At temperatures around 170 °C, Addolink 1604 begins to decompose, generating gaseous products which can cause high pressure to build up in closed systems.
Addolink 1604 can be stored in a liquid state at 110 °C for 10 hours.

The darkening of the liquid in contact with air can be prevented by storage under nitrogen.
This darker colour has no noticable effect on the material properties of the finished elastomers.

Identified uses of Addolink 1604:
Additives for use in the production of polyurethanes

Packaging of Addolink 1604:
Fiber drums with an inner PE sack, contents 30 kg.

Storage conditions of Addolink 1604:
Addolink 1604 is to be stored in a cool and dry place.
When Addolink 1604 is stored in firmly closed original containers at dry conditions at approx. 20 °C, a shelf-life of 24 months from manufacturing date can be expected.
The Addolink 1604 containers should be resealed tightly after use to prevent contamination by impurities and exposure to moisture.

Handling of Addolink 1604:
Consult the safety data sheet for relevant safety data & references as well as possibly necessary warning labels.
