AGNİQUE AE 829

Agnique AE 829 is a high-quality nonionic surfactant specially developed by BASF to maximize the biological efficacy and field performance of agrochemical formulations.
Agnique AE 829 functions as an excellent wetting agent, spreader, humectant, and penetration enhancer adjuvant in pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and plant nutrition products.
By enabling formulations to adhere much better to the leaf surface, it minimizes losses caused by dripping, runoff, and rain wash-off. With its eco-friendly structure and high biodegradability profile,Agnique AE 829 fully complies with modern green agriculture standards.

Main Specifications
Product Name: Agnique AE 829
Manufacturer: BASF
Chemical Description: Fatty alcohol ethoxylate / Synthetic linear and branched alcohol ethoxylate-based surfactant
CAS Number: 68439-46-3 (General Alcohol Ethoxylate class identifier)
Product Type / Class: Nonionic Surfactant / Agricultural Adjuvant and Wetting Agent
Ionic Character: Nonionic (Non-ionic structure carrying no electrical charge)
Physical Form: Clear or slightly hazy, fluid liquid at room temperature, or semi-solid/fluid paste consistency at low temperatures
Product Group: Agnique AE (Alcohol Ethoxylate) Series

Physical and Chemical Properties
Appearance: Clear to slightly yellowish or amber fluid liquid at 25 degrees Celsius.
Solubility Capability: Extremely easy to dissolve in water, self-dispersing to form a clear or slightly hazy stable dispersion; exhibits excellent compatibility with many organic solvents and oil phases.
pH Value (in 1% aqueous solution): Typically ranges between 5.0 and 7.0, showing a near-neutral and safe character that does not harm plant tissues.
Active Content Control: Supplied with a high purity and optimized active ingredient percentage, containing no filler materials in formulations.
Volatility and VOC Status: Possesses a hydrophobic structure with low vapor pressure, is non-volatile, and maintains its chemical stability even at high temperatures.
Chemical Stability: Sustains its stability across a wide pH range (including slightly acidic media); remains unaffected by calcium and magnesium ions in hard water, preventing precipitation.
Cloud Point: Features an optimum cloud point temperature that supports the thermal stability of the formulation.

Key Advantages and Benefits
Excellent Wetting and Contact Angle Reduction: Hızla reduces the surface tension of sprayed droplets during agricultural spraying, preventing water drops from rolling off the leaf surface by ensuring they spread over a wide area.
Advanced Penetration and Enhanced Systemic Efficacy: Helps active ingredients penetrate through the plant's protective waxy outer layer (cuticle) much faster, more homogeneously, and effectively; thereby increasing the systemic success of the pesticides.
High Tank Mixture and Formulation Compatibility: Since Agnique AE 829 carries no electrical charge,Agnique AE 829 pairs seamlessly with anionic, cationic, and other nonionic surfactants; it does not cause phase separation, sediment, or clumping in tank mixes.
Environmental Profile and High Biodegradability: Easily and completely biodegraded by microorganisms in nature.
Agnique AE 829 does not bioaccumulate and draws a highly safe profile on aquatic organisms compared to conventional heavy solvents.
Droplet Size Control and Drift Reduction: Optimizes the droplet size emitted from spray nozzles to reduce the risk of wind drift, maximizing the hit rate onto target weeds or pests.
Economic Dosage Advantage: Displays high surface activity even at very low concentrations (at ppm levels), thereby lowering formulation costs.

Detailed Application and Usage Areas
1. Agrochemicals and Agriculture Chemicals (Main Focus Area)
Used as a built-in adjuvant in all modern agricultural pesticide formulations such as soluble concentrates (SL), emulsifiable concentrates (EC), suspension concentrates (SC), and water-based macro/micro emulsions (EW).
Agnique AE 829 significantly multiplies the leaf tissue absorption of challenging herbicide and fungicide active ingredients like tebuconazole, glyphosate, and 2,4-D.
Agnique AE 829 accelerates the entry of nutrient elements through stomata in foliar fertilizers and plant growth regulators.
Because Agnique AE 829 increases rainfastness resistance, Agnique AE 829 prevents the chemical from being washed away into the soil even during sudden rainfalls occurring immediately after spraying.

2. Industrial and Institutional Cleaning (I and I)

Thanks to its high wetting capability and detergency (dirt removal) properties, Agnique AE 829 acts as a dirt-softening auxiliary surfactant that supports cleaning performance in industrial floor cleaners, hard surface polishers, and institutional laundry/fabric washing chemicals.

3. Textile, Leather, and Wetting Processes
Evaluated as a penetration enhancer and leveling additive in the pretreatment, bleaching, dyeing, and finishing stages of textile processing, where fibers and yarns need to be wetted quickly and homogeneously in chemical baths.
In leather processing, Agnique AE 829 triggers the deep penetration of tanning chemicals into the pores of the leather.

Safety, Storage, and Handling Precautions
Firefighting Methods: Direct high-pressure water streams should not be sprayed in case of a potential fire, as this may cause foaming or spread the fire.
Instead, water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical powder extinguishers, or carbon dioxide (CO2) devices should be used.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: Toxic carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and irritating organic vapors may be released when thermally decomposed or burned.
Appropriate respiratory masks and protective clothing must be used during intervention.
First Aid Measures: In case of contact with eyes or skin, the affected area should be washed immediately with plenty of clean water for at least 15 minutes.
Contact lenses in the eyes should be removed if present, and rinsing should be continued.
Medical assistance should be sought if irritation persists.
If accidentally swallowed, the mouth should be rinsed, the person should not be forced to vomit, and immediate medical help should be obtained.
Storage and Handling Conditions: Must be stored in its original, labeled, and tightly closed packaging.
It should be kept in dry, cool, frost-free, and well-ventilated indoor areas.
Agnique AE 829 must be kept away from direct sunlight, open flame sources, static electricity, and strong oxidizing chemicals.
The shelf life is generally at least 2 years from the date of production under recommended storage conditions.
Environmental Precautions and Spill Management: Large quantities of the product must be strictly prevented from leaking into the sewage system, rivers, lakes, or groundwater.
Small spills should be absorbed with sand, earth, sawdust, or universal liquid absorbent pads, transferred to suitable waste containers, and disposed of in accordance with local waste regulations.
