AKYPO LF 4 is a short alkyl chain ether carboxylic acid. 
This anionic surfactant is designed for low-foaming applications.

AKYPO LF 4 types in general already improves the rinsing of the emulsion from the metal surface. 
As part of a (metal) cleaner AKYPO LF 4 will also support the soil dispersing. 

AKYPO LF 4 types are usually combined with EO-PO based non-ionics. 
The hydrotropic properties of AKYPO LF 4 will help to make a stable formulation in acid , alkaline and/or high electrolyte circumstances. 

AKYPO LF 4 has a short alkyl chain (C6-8) and moderate to high degree of ethoxylation; very good acid stability, good alkaline and electrolyte stability

In acidic or aqueous solutions, the AKYPO LF 4 types behave like non-ionic surfactants. 
In neutralised form they behave like anionic surfactants (this is the so-called crypto-anionic character of alkyl ether carboxylic acids).

AKYPO LF 4 is an excellent low foaming, anionic surfactant with no sulfur, phosphorus or nitrogen in the molecule.  
AKYPO LF 4's main use is as a solubiliser for metalworking fluids.  

In formulations, AKYPO LF 4 supports corrosion prevention; is hard water stable and mild to the skin.

AKYPO LF 4 is manufactured from vegetable oils (coconut, palm, kernel, or palm stearene) by first refining the oil, followed by methyl transesterification and separation by distillation. 
The separated methyl octanoate is saponified and acidified to give AKYPO LF 4.
AKYPO LF 4 is an eight-carbon chain fatty acid, also known systematically as octanoic acid. 

AKYPO LF 4  is found naturally in coconuts and breast milk.
