Ammonium Polyacrylate is the ammonium salt of polyacrylic acid of medium molecular weight.
Ammonium Polyacrylate is used as a dispersant, anti-scalent and suspending agent in a wide variety of industrial processes and applications when the presence of an involatile counter ion may cause processing issues.

These include:

mining and mineral handling (china clay, metal ores)
inorganic pigment dispersions
paper making
textile processing
paint manufacture
boiler water treatment

Ammonium Polyacrylate is a polymer anionic dispersant intended for paint products. It is supplied in the form of 40% aqueous solution of ammonium salt of polyacrylic acid. The product is a clear or lightly murky yellow liquid.

Ammonium Polyacrylate has very good dispersing properties, especially in case of titanium white and mineral fillers.
The product is compatible with widely used acrylic dispersions, styrene and acrylic dispersions, as well as with homo- & copolymers of vinyl acetate. It is also highly compatible with the most popular rheology modifiers.
Ammonium Polyacrylate is better in improving water resistance of paint coats than sodium salt of polyacrylic acid.

The application of Ammonium Polyacrylate significantly decreases the viscosity of aqueous suspensions of titanium white and mineral fillers.
Therefore, the product allows large amounts of pigment and/or fillers to be efficiently introduced into the water system.
Even low concentrations of Ammonium Polyacrylate provide paint products with very good stability. Ammonium Polyacrylate has a positive impact on the compatibility of pigments in colour products.

Ammonium Polyacrylate is also used as a basic dispersing agent in waterborne decorative paints.
Thanks to its low content volatile organic compounds, the product may be used to create paint formulations in compliance with Directive 2004/42/EC.

The recommended level of use in waterborne paints is 0.1 – 0.6% (w/w).

Ammonium Polyacrylate Dispersing Agent is the ammonium salt of polyacrylic acid.
This colorless to pale yellow, clear liquid, absent of visible impurities, is used as a dispersant and, anti-scalent and suspending agent in a variety of industrial processes and applications including inorganic pigment dispersions and paint manufacture.

This is an ammonium salt of acrylic acid homopolymer having low mol. Wt. and narrow Mol. Wt distribution.
The product being ammonium salt contribute to very small amt. of ash content upon ignition.

The polymer shows very good dispersing property particularly for inorganic pigments.
Organic content the product also leaves no or low pidding marks.
Ammonium polyacrylate also shows good rubbing fastness is floor paints as compare to sodium salts.

APPLICATION
This polymer can be effectively used in coating pigment slurries of calcium carbonate, TiO2 particularly in paper coating.
The product is also use as a primary dispersing agent in water born paint system for dispersion of pigments and extenders.
It also finds application in pigment slurry making where high pigment loading is required the product reduces the viscosity of the pigment slurries in order to increase pigment loading.
Ammonium polyacrylate can be effectively used in ceramic and tile as ideal dispersing agents, viscosity reduction / grinding aid, water reducer. This polymer keeps the solids dispersed in various conditions providing very stable dispersions.
By dispersing the particles they maintain good uniformity. When compared with other dispersing agents this dispersants provide very good storage stability of the solids.
They are highly effective at a wide range of temperatures & ph.

High efficiency ammonium salt dispersant is a hydrophobic modified ammonium salt block copolymer, which has the characteristics of reducing abrasive viscosity, improving storage stability, increasing gloss and leveling.
It is widely distributed and can disperse inorganic pigments such as titanium dioxide, iron oxide, calcium carbonate, talcum powder and other organic pigments, such as red, yellow, blue and other organic pigments.
Low addition, good stability, can improve the water resistance and gloss of the film.

Advantages
The special molecular structure can improve the water resistance and glossiness of the film.
Both inorganic salt filling and organic pigment have good dispersion and stability and high performance price ratio.
Improve the paint color ills in the process of floating color, such as hair, can enhance the storage stability of the paint.
No VOC, APEO.
