Bardac LF and LF-80 are composed of a twin chain dimethyl ammonium chloride.
The dioctyl dimethyl structure provides a controlled foam biocide, exhibiting low, fast breaking foam with exceptional dynamic controlled foam performance.
When Bardac LF is used as an active ingredient in FIFRA1 registered formulations such as hard surface disinfectants, sanitizers and/or certain types of water treatment formulations, these products have been found to provide superior biocidal action against a broad spectrum of microbial organisms such as: bacteria, fungi, viruses, and algae.
This “third” generation quaternary ammonium compound delivers potent germicidal action in hard water and organic soil loads.
Bardac LF is often supplied in different concentrations/grades; e.g. LF-70 (~70% active), LF-80, etc.
The properties (density, viscosity etc.) will vary accordingly.
Because Bardac LF is a quaternary ammonium compound (quat), its antimicrobial efficacy depends on concentration, contact time, water hardness, presence of organic matter, etc.
Compatibility considerations: Bardac LF is not compatible with anionic compounds (they can neutralize quats) — formulation must avoid mixing with strong anionics.
Bardac LF prevents algae growth at low concentrations and regains control of systems where algae have become established.
Bardac LF is EPA registered for use in both recirculating cooling water systems and decorative fountains.
Algae growth can be difficult to control cost effectively when using oxidizing biocides alone.
At typical cooling water treatment concentrations, active bromine and chlorine levels that are sufficient to control bacteria are generally not effective at controlling algae.
Bardac LF is a unique quaternary-based algaecide with two very important differences from traditional alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride (ADBAC) and polymeric quaternaries (quats).

USES and APPLICATIONS of BARDAC LF:
Bardac LF is a quaternary ammonium based antimicrobial used as a bacteriostat, disinfectant and (or) a micro biocide.
Bardac LF is ideal for recirculation water systems where control of undesirable microbes without excessive foam is essential.
Bardac LF is mainly used as following fields: Bardac LF is used as fungicide of injection water of oilfield and industrial circulating cooling water.
Bardac LF is used as disinfectant, fungicide and wood preservative agents.
Bardac LF is used as moKR-proofing agents of textile.
Bardac LF can be used compounding with CLO2 when handling hard surface to killing bacteria.
Bardac LF is used as a microbiocide / antimicrobial agent in water treatment systems (e.g. cooling water) to control algae, bacteria, and slime formation.
Bardac LF is designed for low foaming behavior — advantageous in recirculating systems or systems where foaming can interfere with heat exchange or fluid dynamics.
Bardac LF is also used in industrial applications such as disinfectants or sanitizers (depending on formulation) due to its quaternary ammonium structure.

BENEFITS / CHARACTERISTICS of BARDAC LF:
Effective antimicrobial / algaecide action in hard water and in the presence of organic soils (some efficacy even in non-ideal conditions).
Low foaming (fast-breaking foam) compared to many quats, which helps in recirculation and cooling systems where foam is problematic.
Bardac LF is stable under typical storage / use conditions; good freeze-thaw stability.
Bardac LF is water soluble (in certain formulations) — meaning it can be dispersed/dosed in water systems easily.
