CAS Number: 26636-40-8
EC Number: 607-974-1

Docosanol, ethoxylated, 10 mol EO (average molar ratio)
Beheneth-10 is a non-ionic emulsifier for the manufacture of O/ W cosmetic emulsions

Beheneth-10 is a universally applicable, non-ionic emulsifier for the manufacture of cosmetic and pharmaceutical oil-in-water emulsions.
Beheneth-10 is supplied in white pellets or as a waxy solid.

Beheneth-10 has a cloud point (1% in water) of 70-74°C, a pH value (5% in water) of 6.0-7.5, and a hydroxyl value of 70-80.
Beheneth-10 is used as a universally applicable, non-ionic emulsifier for the manufacture of cosmetic O/W emulsions.

Beheneth-10 is a polyethylene glycol ether of Behenyl Alcohol (q.v.).
Beheneth-10 is also called Ethoxylated behenyl alcohol and it is Nonionic Emulsifier for the manufacture of various O/ W emulsions for Cosmetic Industry.

Beheneth 10 (INCI: beheneth 10) is among these highly inorganic substances.

Beheneth 10 is produced by combining natural raw materials and processing them with chemical or synthetic raw materials.
Beheneth-10 is a semi-opaque, waxy, sticky substance that acts (beautifully) as an emulsifier for oil-rich lotions and serums.

Beheneth 10 is effective, harmless (never detected in human tissue or urine), and does not cause any health problems on cosmetic ingredient watch lists.

Uses of Beheneth-10:
Beheneth-10 is used in antiperspirants & deodorants, sun care (after-sun, self-tanning, sun protection), body-, color & face care products.
Beheneth-10 is also used in baby care & cleansing, face cleansing, hair coloring and conditioning formulations.

Functions of Beheneth-10:
Emulsifying agent: Promotes the formation of intimate mixtures between immiscible liquids by modifying the interfacial tension (water and oil)
Surfactant: Reduces the surface tension of cosmetics and contributes to the even distribution of the product during use

The functions of the cosmetic ingredient:

SURFACTANT - CLEANSING: wetting body surfaces, emulsifying or solubilizing oils, and suspending soil (generally, such ingredients contribute to the foaming and lathering properties of cleansing products).

SURFACTANT - EMULSIFYING: helping suspensions or dispersions of liquids in a second liquid by reducing the surface tension of the substances to be emulsified.

BEHENETH-10 is classified as:
Emulsifying
Surfactant
