BEHENETH-25

CAS Number: 26636-40-8

Beheneth-25 is a polyethylene glycol ether of Behenyl Alcohol (q.v.).

Beheneth-25 is a synthetic copolymer of the ester of methacrylic acid and Beheneth-25 (q.v.) and one or more monomers of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid.
Beheneth-25 is a texture enhancer or thickening agent used in skin care & hair care products.

Beheneth-25 possesses aesthetic enhancing properties & superior sensorial properties delivering a soft feel to the product.
Beheneth-25 helps give a smooth skin texture. For hair, this copolymer helps in conditioning & detangling Beheneth-25.

Beheneth-25 is a non-ionic emulsifier for the manufacture of O/ W cosmetic emulsions.

Alcohol & glycol containing formulations, Clear Shampoos, Clear Shower Gels, Two component hair dye systems (hair dye developers, perm neutralizers)

An anionic associative rheology modifier and stabiliser used in Personal Care products.
Offers characteristics such as soft, non-greasy, non-sticky feel, easy to use and wide breadth of possible formulation and product types including gels, emulsions, and clear solutions.

Emulsifier, component enabling the formation of an emulsion.
Emulsion is a physicochemical form that is created by combining (mixing) the water phase with the oil phase.

Examples of cosmetic emulsions are creams, lotions, lotions.
Rheology modifier affects the consistency of the cosmetic product, - increases its viscosity.

Uses of Beheneth-25:
Provides consistency and suspending.
Beheneth-25 is the polymer with the highest transparency.

Suspension capacity is not high.
Beheneth-25 is used in all hair stylers for consistency, especially hair gel.
Different looks can be obtained by mixing with other aculyns.

Viscosity regulator, emulsion stabilizer.

Function of Beheneth-25:
Beheneth-25 is an anionic rheology modifier that was developed specifically for hair and skin care applications.
Rheology/viscosity modifiers

Cleaning agent: Helps keep a surface clean

Emulsifying agent: Promotes the formation of intimate mixtures between immiscible liquids by modifying the interfacial tension (water and oil)

Surfactant: Reduces the surface tension of cosmetics and contributes to the even distribution of the product during use
