Product: Belclene 660
Chemistry: Hydroxy ethylidene diphosphonic acid (HEDP)
Usage: Calcium carbonate scale inhibition
Features: Moderately alkaline waters
Description:
Belclene 660 is an aqueous solution of the phosphonate HEDP, which is widely used in industry as a sequestering agent and calcium carbonate scale inhibitor for applications in industrial boiler and cooling water treatment, industrial cleaning, and metal cleaning.
Application:
Belclene 660 supplies good calcium carbonate control to industrial water treatment formulations, for those who prefer phosphonate-based programs.
Benefits
Belclene 660 provides the industrial water formulation:
• Good calcium carbonate scale inhibition in low to moderate hardness waters
• Good iron oxide dispersancy
• Moderate mild steel corrosion protection
• Good sequestration of iron oxides
• Inexpensive method to control deposition
• Calcium carbonate threshold inhibitor.
• Effective calcium carbonate scale control and corrosion protection in moderately alkaline water.
• Formulates well with Belclene 200 or Belclene 283 for complete all organic formulations.

Belclene 660 is antiscalant for Calcium Carbonate.
Belclene 660 enables excellent calcium carbonate control in the water treatment systems.
Belclene 660 provides excellent calcium carbonate crystal distortion results in non-adherent crystals.
Belclene 660 clean heat exchangers even in high calcium waters.
Belclene 660 is excellent scale inhibitor for carbonates and sulfates, especially under stressed conditions
Belclene 660 is the effective scale inhibitor which mainly used for low pressure boilers, industrial cooling water system, oilfield water pipeline, crude oil dehydration.
Belclene 660 is a high performance scale inhibitor specifically developed to help prevent both calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate salt deposits in water systems.
The unique feature of Belclene 660 is the improved overall performance for inhibiting these calcium scales over conventional polymaleic acids, acrylate polymers and phosphonates.
Belclene 660 will also help prevent the formation of other scales such as calcium oxalate.
Belclene 660 will also disperse colloids and fine particles such as clay.
Etidronic Acid is as a member of the family of drugs known as bisphosphonates, etidronate differs from endogenous pyrophosphate in its resistance to enzymatic hydrolysis.
This agent adsorbs to hydroxyapatite cells and reduces the number of osteoclasts, thereby inhibiting abnormal bone resorption.
Etidronate may also directly stimulate bone formation by osteoblasts.
Etidronic acid is a 1,1-bis(phosphonic acid) that is (ethane-1,1-diyl)bis(phosphonic acid) having a hydroxy substituent at the 1-position.
Etidronic acid inhibits the formation, growth, and dissolution of hydroxyapatite crystals by chemisorption to calcium phosphate surfaces.
Etidronic acid has a role as a bone density conservation agent, a chelator and an antineoplastic agent.
Etidronic acid is a conjugate acid of an etidronic acid(2-).
