BRB SEMPURE HV 6500

BRB Sempure HV 6500 is a 60% active non-ionic aqueous silicone macroemulsion based on a blend of medium- and high-viscosity polydimethylsiloxane oils.
The supplied material is a formulated mixture rather than a single pure molecular substance.
Current technical data identify a milky-white thin liquid, specific gravity approximately 1.0 at 25°C and pH approximately 6.0-9.0.
The non-ionic emulsion uses water as diluent and can be readily diluted for formulation or direct-use applications.

BRB Sempure HV 6500 is a 60% active, non-ionic aqueous silicone macroemulsion formulated from a blend of medium- and high-viscosity polydimethylsiloxane oils. The product is designed to combine two complementary silicone behaviors in one water-dilutable concentrate: the lower- or medium-viscosity silicone fraction improves wetting, spreading and ease of application, while the high-viscosity silicone fraction contributes stronger gloss, surface persistence and durability. BRB Sempure HV 6500 is therefore especially suited to premium polish systems, automotive and household surface-care products, furniture and leather polishes, lubricating treatments, selected textile and sizing applications, mould-release formulations and web-offset printing applications. Current technical information identifies a milky-white thin liquid with approximately 60% active silicone, specific gravity around 1.0 at 25°C, pH 6.0-9.0, non-ionic emulsifier chemistry and water as the diluent. The commercial grade is a formulated silicone emulsion rather than a single pure molecular substance, so one fixed molecular formula, molecular weight, CAS Number or neat-silicone viscosity should not be assigned to the product as a whole. The exact current specification, preservative system, cyclic-siloxane profile, safety classification, packaging and shelf-life requirements should be confirmed from the current Ataman Chemicals TDS, SDS and batch COA for the supplied grade.

WHAT IS BRB SEMPURE HV 6500?

BRB Sempure HV 6500 is a water-based silicone emulsion designed to deliver premium surface-care performance without requiring the formulator to emulsify neat silicone oil.
The product contains approximately 60% active silicone oil dispersed in water through a non-ionic emulsifier system.
The silicone phase is not based on one single viscosity grade.
Instead, the product combines medium- and high-viscosity PDMS oils so the final emulsion can provide both easy spreading and longer-lasting gloss.
This mixed-viscosity concept is the main technical feature that differentiates BRB Sempure HV 6500 from simpler single-viscosity silicone emulsions.
The commercial material is therefore best understood as a formulated performance emulsion rather than as a pure silicone fluid.

WHY THE PRODUCT IS A MIXTURE

BRB Sempure HV 6500 contains water, non-ionic emulsifier and a blend of silicone oils.
The PDMS oils themselves are polymers with molecular-weight distributions rather than one discrete molecular species.
The final commercial emulsion additionally contains the aqueous phase and emulsification system.
For these reasons, assigning one molecular formula or one molecular weight to BRB Sempure HV 6500 would be chemically misleading.
Likewise, the viscosity of a neat high-viscosity silicone oil cannot be used as the viscosity of the supplied aqueous emulsion.
Product specification should rely on commercial parameters such as active content, pH, appearance, specific gravity, emulsion stability and any current release tests.

POLYDIMETHYLSILOXANE CHEMISTRY

Polydimethylsiloxane is a silicone polymer with an alternating silicon-oxygen backbone and methyl groups attached to silicon.
The Si-O-Si backbone is highly flexible and contributes to the unusually low surface tension and broad temperature performance associated with silicone fluids.
Methyl groups create hydrophobic surface character and support water beading.
PDMS generally has low chemical reactivity under ordinary use conditions.
The polymer's low surface energy is responsible for slip, spreading, gloss and release behavior in many surface-care applications.
Increasing PDMS molecular weight or viscosity generally increases persistence and film durability while reducing ease of spreading, which is why blending viscosity grades can be useful.

TWO-IN-ONE SILICONE DESIGN

The mixed-viscosity silicone phase is the central formulation concept of BRB Sempure HV 6500.
The medium-viscosity silicone fraction spreads more readily over a treated surface.
This fraction supports wetting, application uniformity and ease of polishing.
The high-viscosity fraction has lower mobility and remains at the surface more strongly after application.
This supports greater depth of gloss, longer-lasting surface conditioning and improved durability.
The combination allows a formulator to obtain a more balanced premium polish profile than would normally be expected from a single-viscosity silicone emulsion.

MACROEMULSION STRUCTURE

BRB Sempure HV 6500 is described as a silicone macroemulsion.
In a macroemulsion, silicone droplets are dispersed throughout the continuous aqueous phase with the aid of surfactant.
Current application literature describes a small droplet size below approximately 1 µm, which supports dilution stability and uniform deposition.
The emulsion remains visibly milky because the dispersed phase scatters light.
A macroemulsion should not be confused with a transparent microemulsion or a silicone solution.
The emulsion structure can be destabilized by unsuitable electrolytes, solvents, incompatible surfactants, contamination, freezing or extreme pH.

NON-IONIC EMULSIFIER SYSTEM

A non-ionic emulsifier system stabilizes BRB Sempure HV 6500.
Non-ionic emulsification provides broad formulation compatibility compared with strongly cationic or anionic silicone emulsions.
The product can therefore be incorporated into many water-based polish and surface-care formulas.
Non-ionic character does not guarantee compatibility with every surfactant, salt, solvent or preservative.
High electrolyte concentration and strongly surface-active additives can still alter droplet stability.
Formulators should test the complete system after adding fragrance, thickener, surfactants, preservatives and other additives.

ACTIVE CONTENT

BRB Sempure HV 6500 contains approximately 60% active silicone oil.
This high active level allows concentrated polish formulations to obtain substantial silicone deposition at practical use levels.
Active-basis calculation is important when comparing BRB Sempure HV 6500 with lower-active silicone emulsions.
A formulation containing 10% BRB Sempure HV 6500 as supplied contains approximately 6% active silicone.
A formulation containing 20% product as supplied contains approximately 12% active silicone.
The actual production calculation should use the current batch specification where tight mass balance is required.

APPEARANCE

The supplied emulsion is a milky-white thin liquid.
Milky appearance is normal for the macroemulsion and does not indicate contamination.
A major change in color, odor, separation or sedimentation can indicate aging, freezing, contamination or emulsion instability.
The product should be visually checked before use, especially after long storage.
If slight separation is observed, the current TDS or Ataman Chemicals technical guidance should be consulted before rehomogenization.

SPECIFIC GRAVITY

Current technical data give specific gravity of approximately 1.0 at 25°C.
The water-rich continuous phase explains why the emulsion density is close to water.
Specific gravity supports inventory and transfer calculations.
Mass-based dosing remains preferable for production accuracy.
The exact batch value should be taken from the current specification if density is a formal release parameter.

PH

Current technical data give a pH range of approximately 6.0-9.0.
The near-neutral range supports use in many polish and surface-care systems.
Final formulation pH can affect emulsion stability, preservative efficacy and substrate compatibility.
Strongly acidic or strongly alkaline additives should be introduced only after compatibility testing.
A final product should be tested after full equilibration because pH can shift when other ingredients are added.

PARTICLE SIZE

Application literature describes a small particle size below approximately 1 µm.
Smaller, more uniform droplets generally improve dilution behavior and surface deposition consistency.
Particle size also influences gloss uniformity and visual stability.
Agglomeration or droplet growth during storage can lead to creaming or phase separation.
Freezing, incompatible surfactants, high salt or solvent shock can accelerate droplet destabilization.

DILUTION

BRB Sempure HV 6500 can be diluted readily with water.
Tap water can be suitable for direct-use dilution when water hardness and microbiological quality are acceptable.
Demineralized water is preferred when a diluted emulsion must remain stored for an extended period.
Purified water reduces variability from hardness ions, salts and microorganisms.
Water should normally be added under moderate agitation to avoid unnecessary aeration.
The diluted product should be evaluated for stability, preservative protection and microbial control rather than assuming the concentrate's shelf life transfers directly to the dilution.

WHY DEMINERALIZED WATER HELPS

Demineralized water reduces dissolved salts that can destabilize some emulsions.
Calcium, magnesium and other ions can interact with surfactants or additional formulation ingredients.
Lower ionic load improves reproducibility between production batches.
Purified water also reduces visible residues in premium polish products.
Demineralization does not automatically provide microbiological protection, so preserved formulations still require appropriate microbial control.
For long-term diluted storage, both chemical and microbiological stability should be validated.

SURFACE ENERGY AND WETTING

PDMS has very low surface energy.
When deposited on a compatible surface, silicone can improve spreading and reduce friction.
The medium-viscosity fraction of BRB Sempure HV 6500 supports fast wetting and application uniformity.
Good wetting helps polish distribute without heavy streaking or patchiness.
The treated surface often feels smoother because silicone lowers interfacial friction.
Actual wetting depends on the substrate, prior contamination, cleaner residue and other formulation ingredients.

GLOSS DEVELOPMENT

Gloss enhancement is one of the primary functions of BRB Sempure HV 6500.
Silicone can fill microscopic surface irregularities and modify how light reflects from the treated substrate.
The high-viscosity silicone fraction remains on the surface more strongly and supports longer-lasting gloss.
The depth of gloss is especially valuable in automotive vinyl, painted surfaces, furniture, leather and similar polish applications.
Excess silicone can produce an overly greasy or uneven appearance.
The optimum concentration should therefore be selected by gloss, touch and durability testing.

COLOR ENHANCEMENT

Silicone films can increase visual depth and color intensity on dark or aged surfaces.
This effect is often important in automotive trim, dashboards, vinyl and leather-care products.
The improved appearance comes from surface smoothing, refractive-index effects and hydrophobic conditioning.
Color enhancement does not restore damaged pigment or polymer chemically.
A treated surface should therefore be evaluated after repeated cleaning and weathering to distinguish temporary optical enhancement from permanent restoration.

WATER REPELLENCY

PDMS methyl groups create a hydrophobic surface after deposition.
BRB Sempure HV 6500 can therefore increase water beading and reduce wetting on many treated substrates.
Water repellency is useful in furniture care, automotive trim, leather finishes, technical textiles and selected industrial surfaces.
The degree of repellency depends on coverage, substrate porosity and durability of the deposited silicone layer.
Detergents, abrasion and weathering can gradually remove the film.
Repeated application can restore the effect.

SLIP AND LUBRICATION

Silicone deposition lowers surface friction.
BRB Sempure HV 6500 can therefore be used as a lubricating or slip-enhancing treatment on selected hoses, conveyor belts and other surfaces.
Lower friction can improve movement, reduce sticking and provide a smoother tactile finish.
Too much slip can be undesirable on floors, steering controls, pedals, handles or safety-critical surfaces.
Any formulation intended for walking surfaces should be evaluated carefully for slip risk.
The required silicone level should be matched to the specific application rather than maximizing lubrication indiscriminately.

HOME AND CAR CARE

Home and car care are the most important formulation areas for BRB Sempure HV 6500.
Premium polish systems need good spreading during application and persistent gloss after drying.
A purely low-viscosity silicone may spread easily but provide less durable appearance.
A purely high-viscosity silicone can provide durable gloss but may be more difficult to spread or formulate.
BRB Sempure HV 6500 combines both behaviors in one emulsion.
This makes the product especially useful where the formulator wants a balanced premium performance profile without separately emulsifying different silicone fluids.

AUTOMOTIVE POLISHES

Automotive polish formulations can use BRB Sempure HV 6500 as the primary silicone emulsion or as part of a blended surface-care package.
The product can improve gloss, water beading, color depth and smooth tactile feel.
The non-ionic emulsion is convenient for water-based formulas and can be diluted without handling neat high-viscosity silicone oils.
Fragrance, waxes, rheology modifiers, cleaners and preservatives can all alter emulsion stability.
Finished products should be tested for streaking on dark paint and trim.
Silicone should be excluded from brake surfaces, pedals, tire tread and other slip-sensitive functional areas.

FURNITURE POLISHES

Furniture polishes benefit from the gloss and low-friction surface film provided by PDMS.
BRB Sempure HV 6500 can improve wipe-out and reduce drag during polishing.
The high-viscosity fraction contributes a longer-lasting polished appearance.
The formula can be combined with waxes, cleaners or fragrance when compatibility is demonstrated.
Silicone residue may interfere with later refinishing, painting or adhesive bonding on some wood surfaces.
Products intended for valuable or refinishable furniture should therefore carry appropriate use guidance.

LEATHER AND SYNTHETIC LEATHER

Finished leather and synthetic leather can benefit from silicone gloss, smoothness and reduced surface friction.
BRB Sempure HV 6500 is suitable for water-based polish formulations when the leather finish is compatible.
The silicone film can increase water beading and improve hand feel.
Absorbent unfinished leather can respond differently from coated leather.
Darkening, gloss change and dye transfer should be tested on the actual substrate.
Footwear and upholstery formulations should be optimized for non-greasy feel and resistance to rub-off.

FLOOR CARE

Silicone can improve gloss and leveling in selected floor-care products.
However, low surface friction can also increase slip risk.
BRB Sempure HV 6500 should therefore be used cautiously in floor applications.
Finished floor polish must meet the relevant slip-resistance and safety criteria.
A visually attractive gloss result is not sufficient if pedestrian traction is reduced.
Any floor-care formulation should be evaluated on the actual flooring material and under wet and dry conditions.

WEB OFFSET PRINTING

BRB Sempure HV 6500 has specific relevance to web-offset printing technology.
The small emulsion particle size supports good dilution behavior.
The medium-viscosity silicone fraction can improve paper wetting and spreading.
The high-viscosity fraction remains more strongly at the paper surface and can increase long-lasting gloss and surface slip.
Silicone treatment can also reduce smearing, marking and friction in appropriate printing processes.
The exact silicone concentration should be optimized for paper grade, press speed, ink system and downstream finishing.

MOULD RELEASE

PDMS has very low surface energy and is widely used in physical mould-release formulations.
BRB Sempure HV 6500 can provide an aqueous route for depositing silicone on compatible mould surfaces.
The deposited silicone reduces adhesion between the mould and cured or cooled article.
Repeated application can build surface residue.
Silicone contamination can interfere with painting, printing, bonding or coating of the released article.
Use should therefore be avoided where a subsequent silicone-sensitive surface operation is required unless the release system is specifically qualified.

LUBRICATION

Silicone films provide excellent slip and low friction.
BRB Sempure HV 6500 can be used as a water-applied lubricant on selected non-load-bearing surfaces.
The aqueous carrier evaporates and leaves silicone at the interface.
The high-viscosity fraction improves persistence compared with a purely low-viscosity silicone treatment.
The product should not be described as a universal mechanical lubricant because heavy-load, boundary-lubrication or high-pressure applications may require specialized lubricants.
The exact substrate and friction requirement should determine suitability.

TEXTILE AND FIBER PROCESSING

Silicone emulsions can reduce friction in textile and fiber processing.
BRB Sempure HV 6500 can improve smoothness and water repellency on compatible technical fibers.
The non-ionic emulsion provides useful compatibility with many aqueous finishing baths.
Silicone deposition can change dyeability, printability, coating adhesion and absorbency.
Textile finishing should therefore be validated through the complete downstream process.
For specialized hand-modification or permanent softening, amino-functional silicone emulsions may provide different performance and should not be assumed equivalent to BRB Sempure HV 6500.

FORMULATION DOSAGE

Current home- and car-care application literature gives a typical dosage range of approximately 5-30% BRB Sempure HV 6500 as supplied for polish formulation work.
Older or application-specific formulations can use lower or intermediate levels depending on desired gloss and active silicone concentration.
A 5% addition supplies approximately 3% active silicone.
A 10% addition supplies approximately 6% active silicone.
A 30% addition supplies approximately 18% active silicone.
These values are formulation starting points rather than universal recommendations, and the optimum level should be determined by gloss, durability, cost, slip and stability testing.

MIXING PROCEDURE

BRB Sempure HV 6500 should normally be incorporated under moderate agitation.
Excessive high shear after emulsion formation is unnecessary and can destabilize some silicone emulsions.
Water can be charged first, followed by the silicone emulsion and compatible water-soluble ingredients.
Fragrance and hydrophobic additives should be pre-solubilized or emulsified appropriately rather than added directly in a way that shocks the silicone emulsion.
Electrolytes and strong pH adjusters should be added gradually.
The finished formula should be mixed until uniform without entraining excessive foam.

ADDING FRAGRANCE

Fragrance is a common destabilization risk in silicone polish formulations.
Hydrophobic fragrance oil can partition into the emulsion interface and disturb surfactant packing.
A fragrance that appears compatible initially can still cause separation during aging.
Use a suitable solubilization strategy or pre-emulsified fragrance system.
Compatibility should be checked at the highest expected fragrance dose.
Warm and cold storage should be included because solubility and interfacial behavior change with temperature.

RHEOLOGY MODIFIERS

Water-based polish formulations can require viscosity control to prevent separation and improve application feel.
Nonionic or appropriately compatible rheology modifiers are generally easier to formulate with non-ionic silicone emulsions than strongly ionic systems.
Some associative thickeners can interact with surfactant and silicone droplets.
Carbomer-type systems can require neutralization that shifts pH.
Natural gums can contribute microbial burden or stringy flow.
The rheology modifier should therefore be selected by finished-formulation testing rather than generic compatibility assumptions.

PRESERVATION

BRB Sempure HV 6500 is an aqueous product and microbial control is important.
The concentrate may contain its own preservative system, but a finished diluted polish normally requires preservation appropriate to the complete formulation.
Dilution reduces preservative concentration.
Tap water can introduce microorganisms and minerals.
Fragrance, thickener and other ingredients can change preservative efficacy.
Finished products intended for storage should therefore undergo appropriate microbiological stability and preservative-efficacy assessment.

LOW CYCLIC LC VARIANT

A newer BRB Sempure HV 6500 LC variant has been introduced for low-cyclic/SVHC-compliant requirements.
Current public information for the LC variant identifies D4, D5 and D6 each below 0.1%.
The LC version remains a 60% active non-ionic macroemulsion of medium- and high-viscosity silicone oils.
The newer upgraded range also uses a revised preservative system free from isothiazolinones.
These LC-specific compositional claims should not automatically be copied to older or non-LC BRB Sempure HV 6500 inventory.
Where cyclic-siloxane or preservative compliance is critical, the exact product code, current TDS, SDS and COA should be reviewed before supply.

D4 D5 AND D6 CONTEXT

D4, D5 and D6 are cyclic siloxanes that can occur at trace levels in silicone raw materials depending on production and purification.
Regulatory attention to these cyclics has increased in recent years.
Low-cyclic product variants are designed to keep relevant cyclic siloxanes below specified thresholds.
A low-cyclic claim is a product-specific compositional statement rather than a universal property of every PDMS emulsion.
The current supplied-grade documentation should therefore control any SVHC or low-cyclic declaration.

QUALITY CONTROL

Important quality parameters for BRB Sempure HV 6500 include appearance, active silicone content, pH, specific gravity and emulsion stability.
Particle size and dilution behavior are important performance characteristics.
Color, odor, preservative condition and microbial quality can also be relevant depending on application.
LC variants require additional control of cyclic-siloxane content according to the current specification.
The current Ataman Chemicals TDS and batch COA should control commercial acceptance.

ACTIVE SILICONE TEST

Active content is one of the most important commercial parameters.
Current product data identify approximately 60% silicone oil.
The analytical method can involve nonvolatile matter, extraction or another product-specific determination.
The official method should be used for acceptance because surfactant and other nonvolatile components can complicate a simple solids interpretation.
Formulation dosage should be recalculated if a different active silicone emulsion is substituted.

EMULSION STABILITY

A stable silicone emulsion should remain reasonably uniform under the approved storage conditions.
Creaming, oiling-out, coagulation or irreversible separation indicate destabilization.
Temporary viscosity change or slight appearance variation at low temperature should be distinguished from true emulsion break.
Freeze-thaw exposure can damage emulsion structure.
A severely separated or frozen batch should not be restored by uncontrolled high shear without technical review.

DILUTION STABILITY

Good dilution behavior is a key strength of BRB Sempure HV 6500.
The small particle size supports uniform dilution in water.
Dilution can nevertheless reduce surfactant concentration around silicone droplets and increase sensitivity to contamination.
Hard water and salts can change interfacial stability.
Stored dilutions should therefore use suitable purified water and preservation.
The final use dilution should be tested for at least the expected storage period.

STORAGE

Store BRB Sempure HV 6500 in tightly closed compatible containers under the current product-specific storage conditions.
Protect the emulsion from freezing.
Protect from excessive heat and prolonged direct sunlight.
Avoid contamination with strong acids, strong alkalis, solvents, incompatible surfactants and dirty process equipment.
If the material is stored in bulk, gentle recirculation can be used only when supported by the current handling guidance.
The current Ataman Chemicals SDS and TDS should control exact storage temperature and shelf life.

FREEZE PROTECTION

Freezing can disrupt the surfactant layer around silicone droplets.
Once an emulsion has frozen, thawing does not guarantee full restoration of the original particle distribution.
Irreversible creaming, coagulation or oil separation can occur.
The product should therefore be protected from sub-zero storage and transport exposure.
A suspected frozen batch should be inspected and tested before use rather than assumed acceptable after warming.

HEAT EXPOSURE

Moderate warmth lowers viscosity and can make transfer easier.
Excessive or prolonged heat can accelerate preservative degradation, water loss and emulsion instability.
Hot storage can also alter odor and microbial protection.
Heating should therefore be controlled and kept within the approved product range.
Direct steam injection into the product should be avoided unless specifically validated because it can change dilution, temperature and microbiological condition.

SAFETY AND HANDLING

BRB Sempure HV 6500 is a water-based silicone emulsion and should be handled according to the current supplied-product SDS.
The product should not be treated as neat high-viscosity PDMS or assigned safety data from a pure silicone fluid.
Normal industrial hygiene includes avoiding eye contact, prolonged skin exposure and inhalation of spray mist.
Protective gloves and safety glasses are appropriate during bulk transfer and formulation work.
Aerosol generation should be minimized.
The exact current hazard classification can depend on the preservative and minor components used in the supplied version, so the current regional SDS should control.

FIRST AID

After eye contact, rinse cautiously with clean water for several minutes and seek medical advice if irritation persists or as directed by the current SDS.
After skin contact, wash with soap and water and remove heavily contaminated clothing.
After inhalation of spray mist, move the affected person to fresh air and seek medical attention if respiratory symptoms occur.
After accidental ingestion, rinse the mouth and obtain medical guidance according to the current SDS.
First-aid statements for a finished polish or cleaner should be based on the classification of that final formulation rather than copied directly from the raw material.

SPILL MANAGEMENT

A BRB Sempure HV 6500 spill can make floors very slippery because silicone strongly reduces friction.
Contain the liquid and prevent uncontrolled release to drains, soil or surface water.
Use suitable inert absorbent or wet-recovery methods consistent with the SDS.
Do not wash a large spill into drains merely because the product is water based.
Recovered material and absorbent should be handled according to local waste requirements.
The area should be cleaned thoroughly to remove residual slip.

FIRE RESPONSE

BRB Sempure HV 6500 is an aqueous silicone emulsion and has very low fire risk compared with solvent-based polish raw materials.
The water phase suppresses ordinary flammability of the supplied emulsion.
After water is lost during a fire, organic surfactant and silicone components can contribute to combustion or decomposition products.
Firefighting media should be selected for the surrounding fire and current SDS.
Thermal decomposition can generate carbon oxides, silicon-containing residues and irritating fumes.
Firefighters should use appropriate protective equipment for the overall incident.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS

PDMS is poorly soluble in water and tends to associate with surfaces, solids and sludge rather than remaining fully dissolved.
Aqueous emulsion form can nevertheless transport silicone into wastewater if product is discharged.
Surfactants and preservatives also contribute to the environmental profile of the complete commercial product.
Wastewater treatment behavior should therefore be evaluated for the full emulsion rather than for neat PDMS alone.
Routine loss to drains should be minimized.
Local wastewater and disposal requirements should control spent polish, wash water and raw-material spills.

REGULATORY CONSIDERATIONS

BRB Sempure HV 6500 is a commercial mixture and regulatory evaluation should use the current supplied-product SDS.
The product should not be assigned the CAS, EC, molecular formula or hazard classification of one PDMS component as if the emulsion were a pure substance.
Current low-cyclic claims belong specifically to the applicable LC or upgraded product documentation.
Mould-release, food-contact, cosmetic, textile and other regulated uses require separate end-use evaluation.
A general silicone-emulsion history does not establish food-contact approval, medical suitability or cosmetic compliance for the exact supplied grade.

COMMON FORMULATION PROBLEMS

Polish separates after fragrance addition
Fragrance oil can destabilize the silicone emulsion interface. Use a compatible solubilization or pre-emulsification system and test aged stability.

Polish separates after adding thickener
The rheology modifier can interact with the non-ionic emulsifier or change local electrolyte concentration. Screen alternative thickeners and addition sequences.

Emulsion separates after strong acid addition
Extreme pH can destabilize the silicone emulsion. Reduce acid shock, pre-dilute the acid and confirm final pH compatibility.

Emulsion separates after strong alkali addition
High pH or electrolyte loading can disrupt the emulsion. Add alkali gradually and reformulate within the stability range.

Emulsion separates after salt addition
Electrolyte concentration may be too high for the surfactant system. Reduce salt or redesign the formula.

Product becomes unstable after freezing
Freeze damage can be irreversible. Test the batch before use and protect future stock from freezing.

Diluted product spoils microbiologically
Dilution lowers preservative concentration and water quality may introduce microorganisms. Use purified water and a validated preservative system.

Diluted product develops odor
Microbial growth or incompatible fragrance may be responsible. Check microbiology, preservative system and raw-water quality.

Diluted product separates in tap water
Water hardness or salts may destabilize the emulsion. Use demineralized water for stored dilutions.

Polish leaves streaks on dark surfaces
Silicone level, drying rate, application amount or incompatible cleaner residue can cause streaking. Reduce product level or rebalance the formula.

Polish is difficult to spread
Total high-viscosity surface material may be too high or formula viscosity may be excessive. Reduce silicone loading or adjust rheology.

Gloss is too low
Increase BRB Sempure HV 6500 within the validated range or reduce matting/cleaning ingredients that suppress the silicone film.

Gloss is high but durability is poor
The deposited film may be too thin or easily removed by detergents. Increase active silicone or combine with compatible wax/resin technology.

Surface feels greasy
Silicone concentration or application amount is too high. Reduce active deposition.

Surface attracts dust
An overly mobile or oily film can retain dust. Lower silicone loading and optimize drying.

Dashboard becomes overly shiny
High gloss can create glare. Reduce BRB Sempure HV 6500 or blend with a lower-gloss silicone emulsion.

Tire dressing washes off rapidly
Water-based physical silicone deposition can be removed by rain and detergent. Increase durable film former or use a more persistent system.

Floor becomes slippery
Silicone lowers friction. Reduce or eliminate silicone from pedestrian floor products unless the finished formulation passes slip-resistance testing.

Furniture cannot be refinished
Silicone contamination can interfere with later coating adhesion. Surface preparation must remove silicone before refinishing.

Moulded part cannot be painted
Silicone release residue can cause paint craters or adhesion failure. Use a paintable release technology or improve cleaning.

Adhesive fails after silicone treatment
PDMS lowers surface energy and can prevent wetting by adhesive. Keep silicone away from bonding surfaces.

Printability decreases after silicone treatment
Excess silicone lowers surface energy and can reduce ink wetting. Reduce treatment level or apply only after printing.

Web-offset paper is too slippery
High silicone deposition can reduce friction excessively. Lower active concentration.

Web-offset gloss is inconsistent
Dilution, droplet distribution or application rate may be uneven. Verify dilution water, agitation and dosing.

Hose treatment is too slippery
Reduce silicone level or treatment frequency where grip is required.

Conveyor application causes product slippage
Silicone may lower friction below the process requirement. Reduce or remove treatment in traction-critical zones.

Leather polish rubs off
Excess mobile silicone or inadequate film structure may be present. Lower dose or add compatible binder.

Leather darkens unexpectedly
Absorbent leather can take up silicone and change optical appearance. Test the exact leather before use.

Synthetic leather becomes tacky
Silicone may interact with coating additives or plasticizers. Reduce level and perform heat-aging tests.

Product foams during mixing
Agitation may be too intense or other surfactants may contribute foam. Reduce shear and use a compatible defoamer if necessary.

Defomer destabilizes polish
Some defoamers compete at the silicone-emulsion interface. Use a compatible low-dose defoamer.

Fragrance causes viscosity loss
Hydrophobic oil can disrupt associative thickener structure. Adjust solubilization and rheology.

Preservative causes separation
Some preservative solvents or electrolytes can disturb emulsion stability. Screen alternative systems.

Product is compared with neat 60,000 cSt silicone oil
BRB Sempure HV 6500 is a 60% aqueous emulsion of mixed-viscosity silicone oils; it is not equivalent to one neat 60,000 cSt PDMS fluid.

Customer asks for one PDMS viscosity
The product contains a blend of medium- and high-viscosity silicone oils, so one neat-fluid viscosity does not define the commercial emulsion.

Customer asks for one molecular weight
PDMS is polymeric and distributed, and the commercial product is an aqueous mixture; one fixed molecular weight is not appropriate.

Customer asks for one molecular formula
Only the repeating PDMS unit can be represented generically. The product itself has no single molecular formula.

Customer assigns CAS 63148-62-9 to the whole product
That CAS can describe PDMS chemistry but should not replace the actual mixture identification in the current SDS.

Customer assumes BRB Sempure HV 6500 and BRB Sempure HV 6500 LC are identical
The LC variant is specifically positioned for low-cyclic/SVHC-compliant requirements. Confirm the exact grade before making D4/D5/D6 claims.

Customer claims D4 D5 D6 below 0.1% on old stock
Do not make the low-cyclic claim without batch or grade documentation confirming the relevant LC or upgraded specification.

Polish uses 30% product but remains unstable
High silicone content alone does not create stability. Fragrance, thickener, surfactant, water quality and preservative must be compatible.

Polish uses only silicone emulsion and water but separates
Check water quality, microbial contamination, freezing history, batch condition and mixing practice.

Stored dilution becomes thinner over time
Rheology modifier, preservative or emulsion interactions can change with aging. Perform full shelf-life testing on the diluted product.

Stored dilution becomes thicker
Evaporation, microbial contamination or associative-thickener interactions may be responsible. Verify solids, microbiology and package seal.

Product is sprayed and creates mist
Spray aerosols increase inhalation exposure. Use appropriate engineering controls and current SDS precautions.

Spill leaves floor slippery after water rinse
Silicone residue remains. Use suitable detergent cleaning and verify traction before reopening the area.

FINAL TECHNICAL SUMMARY

BRB Sempure HV 6500 is a 60% active non-ionic aqueous silicone macroemulsion based on a blend of medium- and high-viscosity polydimethylsiloxane oils.
The supplied material is a formulated mixture rather than a single pure molecular substance.
Current technical data identify a milky-white thin liquid, specific gravity approximately 1.0 at 25°C and pH approximately 6.0-9.0.
The non-ionic emulsion uses water as diluent and can be readily diluted for formulation or direct-use applications.

The small particle size supports good dilution behavior and stable surface deposition.
The product's two-in-one silicone design is its defining performance feature.
The medium-viscosity silicone fraction improves wetting, spreading and ease of application.
The high-viscosity silicone fraction provides stronger gloss, surface persistence and durability.
Major applications include automotive polishes, dashboard and vinyl conditioners, furniture polish, leather polish, shoe care, selected floor care, industrial lubrication, mould release, textile finishing and web-offset printing.
Current home- and car-care application literature gives approximately 5-30% as supplied as a typical formulation range for premium polish work.
Dilution with tap water is possible for direct use, while demineralized water is preferred for dilutions that must be stored for longer periods.
BRB Sempure HV 6500 should not be described as a neat high-viscosity PDMS fluid or assigned one exact neat-silicone viscosity.

One fixed molecular formula and molecular weight are not appropriate because the product contains polymer-distributed PDMS oils, water and emulsifier.
A single PDMS CAS Number should not be used as a substitute for the commercial mixture identification in the supplied SDS.
A newer BRB Sempure HV 6500 LC variant is specifically positioned for low-cyclic/SVHC-compliant requirements.
Current information for the LC variant identifies D4, D5 and D6 each below 0.1%, but these limits should not be assigned automatically to old or non-LC inventory.
Emulsion stability can be affected by freezing, fragrance oil, electrolytes, strong pH adjustment, incompatible surfactants, poor water quality and microbial contamination.
