CASUCOL 301

CAS NUMBER:  69331-40-4

Casucol 301 extends the processing time of plaster pastes.
Casucol 301 can be characterized as improver for the workability of gypsum plasters.

The physical shape has been especially adjusted in order to promote a homogeneous distribution of the material throughout the prepared gypsum composition.
Casucol 301 possesses a very quick solubility in cold water.

Even in very low concentrations Casucol 301 gives a viscous, thixotropic character to the gypsum slurries.
These properties result in the rapid development of the desired plaster consistency.

The rapid solubility resulting in an instantaneous thickening effect in the plaster contributes to a longer processing time by bringing forward the starting point for use.
The co-application of the usual retarders e.g. phosphates and citrates gives an additional increase of the processing period.

In joint cement as well as cement based tile glue Casucol 301 performs as a binding component as well as a Rheology modifier.
Casucol 301 shows excellent performance in the presence of lime.

Casucol 301 has also a good compatibility with other additives like water retention aids, retarders, and so on.
Casucol 301 is a product for the building industry.

Casucol 301 is used as additive to extend the processing time of plaster pastes, for use as binding component and rheology modifier in joint cement and for use in glue compositions for tiles.

Casucol 301 is a polysaccharide compound extracted from natural plants and has the same chemical structure and similar properties as cellulose ether.
Casucol 301 used in the mortar can greatly increase the consistency of the mortar and improve the structural performance and sag resistance of the mortar.

Casucol 301s are often used in combination with unmodified and modified cellulose esters.
Casucol 301 is suitable for neutral and alkaline systems and is compatible with most gypsum and cement additives such as surfactants, HPMC, starch and polyvinyl acetate and other water-soluble polymers.

Casucol 301s are mainly used for manual or mechanical spraying of mortars, tile adhesives, sealants and adhesives, and masonry mortars with cement and gypsum as binders.
The main function of Casucol 301 is rheological modification and thickening.

Casucol 301 enables your construction industry to increase productivity and achieve the best workability.
Casucol 301s are often used in combination with cellulose ethers and redispersible polymer powders.

Casucol 301s are added to mortars in order to modify the rheology of the fresh mortar by bridging flocculation.
The proper function as flocculant for cement requires that the starch ether molecules possess anionic charged functional groups.

With this in mind, the different types of commercially available starch ethers are evaluated.
Two types of Casucol 301s can be distinguished, which differ in the dependence of the effect on dosage.

The interactions of Casucol 301s with calcium ions are discussed and recommendations are given for the targeted selection of the appropriate product.
Casucol 301 can be considered as a condensation polymer of glucose, consisting of anhydroglucose units.

Main component of starch is amylopectin, one of the largest molecules in nature with an average degree of polymerization of about 2 million (corresponding with an average molar mass of about 400 million).
Casucol 301 has a highlybranched structure, consisting of short linear chains with a DP ranging from 10 to 60 glucose units.

In solution, Casucol 301 spreads out into a treetop-like structure.
Casucol 301 molecule, dissolved in cement pore solution, has a typical diameter of about 0.3 microns.

Unfortunately, there are very few publish data on the hydrodynamic radius of Casucol 301s, and those published were determined in water and at neutral pH.
Casucol 301 is a complex antifreeze additive with air-entraining and plasticizing effect for concretes and mortars.

Casucol 301 is recommended to use in conditions of low and negative temperatures, observing the current regulations for concreting in winter conditions.
The dosage of the additive must be determined experimentally in order to achieve the lowest possible water-cement ratio.

The effectiveness of the Casucol 301 additive depends on the mineralogical and material composition of the cement, the brand of cement, its amount in the concrete mixture, temperature, water-cement ratio and other factors.
The optimal amount of the additive, which allows obtaining the maximum technical and economic effect, must be determined in each individual case, after preliminary laboratory or production tests.

When changing the brand or type of cement, Casucol 301 is necessary to conduct additional tests for compliance with the physical and mechanical properties of concrete and concrete mix.
Casucol 301 additive is not recommended to be mixed with other chemical constituents and other additives, if necessary, the manufacturer's confirmation is required.

Casucol 301 is a moderately hazardous substance and belongs to the 3rd hazard class.
The additive does not form toxic compounds in the air and wastewater.

The introduction of additives into the concrete mixture does not change the toxicological and hygienic characteristics of concrete.
Hardened concrete with an additive does not emit toxic substances into the air.
