CETYL ISONONANOATE

CETYL ISONONANOATE = HEXADECYL ISONONANOTE = CETEARYL ISONONANOATE

CAS Number: 84878-33-1
EINECS: 284-424-3
Molecular Formula: C25 H50 O2

CETYL ISONONANOATE results from esterification of a saturated C16-C18 alcohol, namely cetyl or stearyl alcohol, and a branched chain isononanoic acid.
Cetearyl Isononanoate is a medium viscous emollient with hydrophobic properties, which when added to a cosmetic product will help to soften, smooth and lubricate the skin
Cetearyl Isononanoate offers hydrophobic film which prevent skin from drying.

Cetearyl Isononanoate is well tolerated by the human skin.
Cetearyl Isononanoate is a good solubilizer for active ingredients and UV filters.
Stable to oxidation.
Cetearyl Isononanoate is a colorless, odorless liquid that exhibits increased solubility in oil.

CETYL ISONONANOATE is soluble in diethyl ether and acetyl, and slightly soluble in methanol and n-octanol.
However, CETYL ISONONANOATE is insoluble in hot and cold water.
Cetearyl Isononanoate’s melting point range is 48° C to 56° C / / 118.4° F to 132.8° F.
The product’s average specific gravity is 0.82 and CETYL ISONONANOATE's highest known vapor density is 9.5.

Well-tolerated by human skin, Cetearyl Isononanoate is also useful as a conditioning agent in hair conditioning products.
Cetearyl Isononanoate is a vegetable-based, medium viscosity emollient with strong hydrophobic (water repellent) properties. As with other personal care esters, Cetearyl Isononanoate works well as a cosmetics additive in products that soften and smoothen rough skin.

An ester of Pelargonic Acid, Cetearyl Isononanoate is also an excellent solubilizer for other active cosmetics and personal care product ingredients, and ultra-violet filters.
Cetearyl Isononanoate is a cosmetic oil that forms a pleasant emollient film on the skin and is a good solvent for active ingredients.
Cetearyl Isononanoate is also stable to oxidation.

USES and APPLICATIONS of CETYL ISONONANOATE:
-Emollient: Softens and softens the skin
-Skin conditioning agent: Keeps the skin in good condition
-CETYL ISONONANOATE is used as a hair conditioning agent, a skin conditioning agent, and an emollient, and is found in several moisturizing creams

-Skin-care ingredient (wax)
-Use as lubricant.
-Use as dispersing agent and emulsion stabilizer.
-Cetearyl isononanoate is used in skin care cosmetics due to its hydrophobic properties, among other things: the particularly skin-compatible substance forms a water-repellent film on the skin surface and thus protects the skin against dehydration and epidermal water loss.

-Together with ethylhexyl isononanoate and isonononyl isononanoate, cetearyl isononanoate is one of the most frequently used esters of isononanoic acid in cosmetic products.
-Emollient: Softens and softens the skin
-Hair conditioner: Leaves hair easy to comb, supple, soft and shiny and/or gives volume, lightness and shine
