CETYL LAURATE

CETYL LAURATE = PALMITYL DODECANOATE = DODECANOIC ACID

CAS Number: 20834-06-4
EC number.: 244-071-8
MDL: MFCD00056216
Molecular Formula: C28H56O2

Cetyl laurate is an ester compound usually found in skincare and cosmetic products.
Like other ester compounds, cetyl laurate is derived from carboxylic acid in which one of the carboxylic -OH group is replaced by an alkoxy (-OR) group, most commonly via the process of substitution reaction with an alcohol organic compound.
Cetyl laurate contains cetyl alcohol (1-hexadecanol) as the alcoholic component.
Laurates are salts or esters of lauric acid (dodecanoic acid).

USES and APPLICATIONS of CETYL LAURATE:
-Softening
-Viscosity regulating
-Emulsifying
-Nourishing
-Emollient:
Softens and soothes the skin.
