Corfree M1 is used in a variety of corrosion inhibitor applications, including metalworking fluids, engine coolants, metal cleaners, aqueous hydraulic fluids, and die cast release agents.

When formulated as an amine salt, Corfree M1 dibasic acid provides superior corrosion protection to alternatives such as sebacic acid, azelaic acid, and long-chain monobasic acids.
Corfree M1 dibasic acid formulations do not leave undesirable, hard-to-clean residues associated with amine borate formulations.

Uses of Corfree M1: Corfree M1 can be condensed with hexamethylene diamine to produce engineering plastics nylon 6-12; the diester formed with octanol, butanol and other alcohols can be used as plasticizer of polyvinyl chloride, cellulose nitrate and cellulose acetate; the diester synthesized with octanol can also be used as base oil for jet engines and gas turbines, or low temperature grease; the dodecanedioic acid can also be used as saturation.
