Crodamol OP, or octyl palmitate, is the fatty acid ester derived from 2-ethylhexanol and palmitic acid. 
Crodamol OP is commonly used in cosmetic formulations.

Crodamol OP is a branched saturated fatty ester derived from ethylhexyl alcohol and palmitic acid.

Crodamol OP is a clear, colorless, almost odorless liquid, insoluble in water
Crodamol OP is obtained from palmitic acid, which is a fatty acid naturally occurring in plants and animals (palm oil, meat, cheese, milk ..)
Crodamol OP has excellent spreadability, absorbability and good lubricating effect and is stable to oxidation
Crodamol OP is also a good dispersant for pigments and is therefore used in solar products that contain inorganic filters such as titanium dioxide
Crodamol OP is a palm oil derivative and is often used as a substitute for organic silicones
Crodamol OP is considered comodogenic and acnegenic
