D-Panthenol is the Provitamin of D-Pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5), and is used in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as in many types of cosmetic preparations.

D-Panthenol is the provitamin of D-pantothenic acid.
The substance, also known as pro-vitamin B5, is valued in skin and hair care for its moisturising properties and strengthening and moisturising conditioner for hair care products, especially conditioners.
Panthenol is hygroscopic, since it acts as a humectant and adheres strongly to the cuticle and penetrates deep into the cortex of the hair shaft, thus improving the resistance of hair to mechanical stress.

In cosmetics, panthenol is a humectant, emollient and a moisturiser.
Panthenol binds to the hair shaft readily and is frequently used in shampoos and hair conditioners (in concentrations of 0.1-1%).

Panthenol coats the hair and seals its surface, lubricating the hair shaft and making strands appear shiny.
Panthenol is also recommended by many tattoo artists for inclusion in moisturising cream for new tattoos.

D-Panthenol 75W is a slightly yellow or colorless, clear, solution of the pure substance in water.
D-Panthenol 75W is soluble in water, methanol ,propylene glycol and ethanol, insoluble in fats and oils.

D-panthenol 75W is stored to air and light.
If it is stored at below 25℃ in the tightly sealed, original cotainers,it has a shelflife of 12 months.
In weakly acidic ,aqueous solutions,D-Panthenol 75W is considerably mors stable than the salts of pantothenic acid.
D-Panthenol 75W is unstable in strong abids and bases.

D-Panthenol 75W is a slightly yellowish or colorless, clear, solution of the pure substance in water with characteristic odor, containing a minimum of 75% D-Panthenol in water.
D-Panthenol 75W is readily miscible with water, ethanol, methanol, and propylene glycol.
D-Panthenol 75W is insoluble in fats and oils.

Panthenol, also called D-Panthenol, is a stable alcohol analog of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), and is thus a provitamin of B5.
Panthenol is often used as a source of the vitamin in multivitamin supplements.
Panthenol plays a key role in the human intermediary metabolism.
Deficiency of Vitamin B5 can result in many dermatological disorders.
D-Panthenol is applied in  the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry and in almost all types of cosmetic preparations.
D-Panthenol cares for hair, skin and nails.

D-Panthenol 75W is stable to air and light.
In weakly acidic, aqueous solutions, D-Panthenol is considerably more stable than the salts of pantothenic acid.
But it is unstable in strong acids and bases.

Pantothenic acid is an essential nutrient for the synthesis of proteins, carbohydrates and fats, but it is also a very unstable chemical that is easily degraded by exposure to light, heat, or acids.
To stabilize pantothenic acid it is synthetically combined with calcium to make D-calcium pantothenate.

Dexpanthenol, an alcoholic analog of pantothenic acid, can be potentially applied for skin wound healing application.
Dexpanthenol is utilized in multi-vitamin formulations, as a parenteral drug and certain cosmetic preparations.
When absorbed by the skin, it is transformed into pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which has implications in the biosynthesis of coenzyme A.

Dexpanthenol may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations by various chromatography techniques as well as partial least-squares multivariate calibration.

Panthenol is used in skincare products as a humectant because of its ability to attract and hold moisture, also called pro-vitamin B5, panthenol mixes readily with many different types of ingredients, making it a versatile ingredient to be used in formulas because it improves the look and sensory of the skin.
Panthenol enhances the appearance and sensory of hair, by increasing hair body, suppleness, or sheen, or by improving the texture of hair that has been damaged physically or by chemical treatment.
