DEHYDOL LT 5 is a fatty alcohol that is a very good raw material for the manufacture of liquid wool and light-duty detergents.
DEHYDOL LT 5 is a nonionic surfactant from BASF based on C12–C18 fatty alcohol ethoxylated with approx. 5 moles of ethylene oxide.
DEHYDOL LT 5 is supplied as a liquid and is designed to provide effective wetting, emulsifying, detergency, and cleaning performance in a wide variety of household, industrial, institutional, and technical formulations.

DEHYDOL LT 5's balanced hydrophilic-lipophilic character, with an HLB value of approx. 10.5, makes DEHYDOL LT 5 particularly useful in formulations where efficient interaction between aqueous and oily phases is required.
DEHYDOL LT 5 can be used in detergents, hard-surface cleaners, degreasers, industrial cleaners, textile processing formulations, and other surfactant-based systems where good wetting and soil-removal properties are important.

DEHYDOL LT 5 can also function as an emulsifier and formulation aid, helping improve the distribution and stability of hydrophobic components within cleaning and processing systems.
BASF identifies DEHYDOL LT 5 as a C12–C18 fatty alcohol + 5 EO surfactant, supplied in liquid form, with approx. 60% bio-based carbon and a readily biodegradable classification.
DEHYDOL LT 5's combination of surface activity, liquid handling characteristics, compatibility with other surfactants, and formulation versatility makes it suitable for use as a primary or complementary nonionic surfactant in numerous industrial and cleaning applications.

Applications of DEHYDOL LT 5:
DEHYDOL LT 5 is used in a wide range of household, industrial, institutional, and technical cleaning formulations where effective wetting, emulsification, detergency, and soil removal are required.
