DESMODUR® CQ

Desmodur® CQ is a Covestro family of more sustainable isocyanate crosslinkers used mainly in coatings and adhesives.
Desmodur® CQ products can be based on MDI, TDI, blocked isocyanates or HDI-type crosslinkers, depending on the grade.
Desmodur® CQ grades take part of their raw materials from renewable or circular feedstocks.

Synonyms: Desmodur CQ, Desmodur® CQ 2460 M MB, Desmodur® CQ BL 7175, Desmodur® CQ T 80 MB, Desmodur® CQ ultra N 7300, Isocyanate crosslinker, Covestro CQ crosslinker

Desmodur® CQ is supplied by Covestro as a range of crosslinkers rather than as a single product.
Desmodur® CQ grades differ in their isocyanate chemistry, so the exact properties of each grade should be taken from its technical data sheet.

Uses of Desmodur® CQ:
Desmodur® CQ is used mainly as an isocyanate crosslinker in coatings.
Desmodur® CQ is used mainly as an isocyanate crosslinker in adhesives.

Desmodur® CQ offers a more sustainable alternative to conventional isocyanate crosslinkers by using renewable or circular feedstocks for part of its raw materials.
Desmodur® CQ grades are chosen according to the isocyanate type required by the coating or adhesive system.

Benefits or Advantages of Desmodur® CQ:
Desmodur® CQ is a more sustainable range of crosslinkers because part of its raw material comes from renewable or circular feedstocks.
Desmodur® CQ offers a choice of MDI, TDI, blocked isocyanate and HDI-type chemistries within one product family.

Features of Desmodur® CQ:
Desmodur® CQ contains reactive isocyanate groups and is sensitive to moisture.
Covestro specifically notes the moisture sensitivity of several Desmodur® CQ grades.

Chemical Properties of Desmodur® CQ:
Desmodur® CQ isocyanate groups can react with water, alcohols, amines and other compounds containing active hydrogen.
Desmodur® CQ reactions with moisture may release heat and carbon dioxide.

Desmodur® CQ is a product family and therefore has no single CAS number, EC number, molecular formula or molecular weight.
Desmodur® CQ composition differs by grade, so the exact composition should be taken from the supplier's safety data sheet.
