DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] is a yellowish liquid which has C16H34O4 as chemical formula. 

DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] is also known as di-tert-butyl 1,1,4,4-tetramethyltetramethylene diperoxide, 2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-bis(tert-butylhydroperoxy)hexane and Di-tert-butyl 1,1,4,4-tetramethyltetramethylene diperoxide.

DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] is a clear, yellow liquid.

Compared with Di-tert-butyl peroxide and DCP, DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] is less volatile and more stable. 

DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] is a very effective high temperature curing agent for vinylsiloxane rubbers with higher tensile strength and lower tensile stretch.


USES and APPLICATIONS of DHBP [2,5-DIMETHYL-2,5-DI(TERT.-BUTYLPEROXY)HEXANE]:
-DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] is a peroxide curing agent in liquid form and is used in Peroxide curing systems. 


-DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] (CAS NO.78-63-7) is used as the initiator, and polymer degradation agent, silicone rubber, polyurethane rubber, ethylene propylene rubber and other rubber vulcanization agent.


-DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] is used as an initiator (radical source) in the crosslinking of polymers, and the rheology control of polypropylene.


-DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] is a low volatility, yellowish liquid , dialkyl peroxide for crosslinking of elastomers (silicone rubber, EPDM, PE etc.), and is used as modification agent of PP degradation.


-DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] is used as the initiator, and polymer degradation agent, silicone rubber, polyurethane rubber, ethylene propylene rubber and other rubber vulcanization agent. 


-DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] polymer initiator has two main application areas, the viscosity modification of certain polyolefins and the crosslinking of rubber or elastomers. 


-DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane]  is also useful in the curing of engineered rubber compounds containing large amounts of fillers like carbon black.


-DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] is an efficient peroxide for the degradation of polypropylene (CR-PP) in the temperature range of 200-250˚C. 


-DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] allows PP producers great flexibilty in controlling a polymer’s Melt Flow Index (MFI). 
Small changes in either peroxide concentration or process temperature can produce significantly different MFI’s. 


-DHBP [2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.- butylperoxy)hexane] can also be used as chaser catalyst to reduce residual monomer in the mass polymerization of styrene.
