Uses
Dicaprylyl Ether is used in the following products: cosmetics and personal care products, anti-freeze products, biocides (e.g. disinfectants, pest control products), coating products, fillers, putties, plasters, modelling clay, finger paints, lubricants and greases, polishes and waxes and washing & cleaning products.
Other release to the environment of Dicaprylyl Ether is likely to occur from: indoor use (e.g. machine wash liquids/detergents, automotive care products, paints and coating or adhesives, fragrances and air fresheners), outdoor use, indoor use in long-life materials with low release rate (e.g. flooring, furniture, toys, construction materials, curtains, foot-wear, leather products, paper and cardboard products, electronic equipment) and indoor use in long-life materials with high release rate (e.g. release from fabrics, textiles during washing, removal of indoor paints).
Dicaprylyl Ether is used in the following products: coating products, fillers, putties, plasters, modelling clay, lubricants and greases, inks and toners, washing & cleaning products, adhesives and sealants, air care products, biocides (e.g. disinfectants, pest control products), finger paints, non-metal-surface treatment products, polymers and welding & soldering products.
Dicaprylyl Ether is used for the manufacture of: rubber products, plastic products, mineral products (e.g. plasters, cement), machinery and vehicles, furniture and .
Other release to the environment of Dicaprylyl Ether is likely to occur from: indoor use (e.g. machine wash liquids/detergents, automotive care products, paints and coating or adhesives, fragrances and air fresheners) and outdoor use.
Dicaprylyl Ether is used in the following products: fillers, putties, plasters, modelling clay, adhesives and sealants, coating products, non-metal-surface treatment products, lubricants and greases and inks and toners.
Dicaprylyl Ether is used in the following areas: building & construction work.
Dicaprylyl Ether is used for the manufacture of: chemicals, mineral products (e.g. plasters, cement), rubber products, plastic products, textile, leather or fur, pulp, paper and paper products, machinery and vehicles and furniture.
Release to the environment of Dicaprylyl Ether can occur from industrial use: in processing aids at industrial sites, in the production of articles, as an intermediate step in further manufacturing of another substance (use of intermediates) and as processing aid.
Other release to the environment of Dicaprylyl Ether is likely to occur from: outdoor use and indoor use (e.g. machine wash liquids/detergents, automotive care products, paints and coating or adhesives, fragrances and air fresheners).

Dicaprylyl Ether is used in a variety of products such as moisturizers, deodorants, sunscreens, and hair dyes.
Skin care: Dicaprylyl Ether is known to form protective layer on the skin, keeping it out of harm's way.
Dicaprylyl Ether moisturizes and enhances the skin’s lipid layer, without leaving it oily.
The smooth, dry feel of Dicaprylyl ether is what makes it so popular in skin care products

Hair care: Dicaprylyl Ether repairs dry and damaged hair while protecting it from harmful surroundings.
Dicaprylyl Ether's many useful properties give hair a velvety feel and is thus widely used in hair care products such as conditioners, shampoos, and leave-on treatments

Cosmetic products: Dicaprylyl Ether aids spreadability in cosmetic products by improving the texture and flow of formulations.
Dicaprylyl Ether also does not clog pores.
Because acne as Dicaprylyl Ether is non-comedogenic.

Air & Water Reactions
Ethers tend to form unstable peroxides when exposed to oxygen.
Dicaprylyl Ether, isobutyl, ethyl tert-butyl, and ethyl tert-pentyl ether are particularly hazardous in this respect.
Ether peroxides can sometimes be observed as clear crystals deposited on containers or along the surface of the liquid.
