DESCRIPTION:

Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is an organic compound, one of several glycol ether solvents.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is a colorless liquid with a low odour and high boiling point.

Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is mainly used as a solvent for paints and varnishes in the chemical industry, household detergents, brewing chemicals and textile processing.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is produced by the reaction of ethylene oxide and n-butanol with an alkalic catalyst.

Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether acts as an inert ingredient as a deactivator for formulation before the crop emerges from the soil and as a stabilizer.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is also a chemical intermediate for the synthesis of diethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate, diethylene glycol dibutyl ether, and piperonyl acetate, and as a solvent in high baked enamels.

Other applications of Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether are as a dispersant for vinyl chloride resins in organosols, a diluent for hydraulic brake fluids, and a mutual solvent for soap, oil, and water in household cleaners.
The textile industry uses Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether as a wetting-out solution.

Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is also a solvent for nitrocellulose, oils, dyes, gums, soaps, and polymers.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is also used as coupling solvent in liquid cleaners, cutting fluids, and textile auxiliaries.

In the printing industry, Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether applications include: solvent in lacquers, paints, and printing inks; high boiling point solvent to improve gloss and flow properties; and used as a solubilizer in mineral oil products.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is used primarily in the manufacturing of lacquers based on nitrocellulose, cellulose ethers and chlorinated rubber.

Small quantity is also used in combination lacquers.
Solutions of nitrocellulose in Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether may be diluted with large quantity of white spirit, aromatic hydrocarbons or ethanol without adversely affecting the film properties.

Small quantity of Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether improves both the flow and dilution capacity of the lacquers and also enhances the gloss of the resultant lacquer films.
Since Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether dissolves only dried lacquer coatings very slowly, it is ideal for the preparation of brushing lacquers based on cellulose esters, cellulose ethers and chlorinated rubber.

Even small addition of Butyl Diglycol to alkyd and the viscosity of the lacquer solution considerably reduce, thereby improving the brush-out properties.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is an organic, flammable, colorless, odorless liquid having high boiling point.

Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is soluble in several organic solvents, including benzene, ethanol, acetone, and others.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is manufactured by the reaction of ethylene oxide and n-butanol in the presence of an alkaline catalyst.

Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is majorly used as solvent for varnishes and paints and also in the chemical industry.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether has the ability to remove both water-soluble and water-insoluble greases and oils from surfaces.

Therefore, Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is extensively used in the production of detergents and other cleaning agents and also in the textile industry.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is a colorless liquid, which is miscible in water and oil.

Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is soluble in benzene, ethanol, acetone, and ethyl ether.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is one of the key raw materials for manufacturing diethylene glycol monobutyl ether.

Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is an organic compound and is a flammable, colorless liquid having a faint odor.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is primarily formulated by the catalytic oxidation of ethylene. Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is manufactured by reacting ethylene oxide with n-butanol in presence of alkali catalysts.

Diethylene glycol monobutyl ethers are used to formulate several industrial multi-purpose cleaners.
In manufacturing facilities, proper cleaning of the equipment and its surrounding space is critical to ensure proper and uninterrupted functioning of the machines.

Cleaning of the equipment includes degreasing, removal of accumulated dirt and dust, and disinfecting the surrounding areas.
To maintain and preserve workplace cleanliness and hygiene, manufacturers working in the cleaning products formulation space have developed multiple surfactants, chelating agents, solvents, pH regulators, and solubilizers, wherein diethylene glycol monobutyl ethers are used in formulations.

Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, oils, dyes, gums, soaps and polymers.
Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether is also used as a coalescing agent in latex paints and in hard surface cleaners.
