DISODIUM LAURYL SULFOSUCCINATE

Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is a sulfate free anionic surfactant.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is an excellent Foaming agent which produces a creamy rich lather in your products.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is considerably milder than SLS whilst still producing plenty of foam.

Surfactants are partly water-soluble and partly oil-soluble, which allows the oil and water-based ingredients of a formula to blend well, but also to be rinsed well.

Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is often used in cosmetics as a milder alternative to sulfates, although one doesn’t systematically replace the other as they are not the same material and will not behave in the same way with other ingredients.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is derived from palm oil, which is why Lush try not to overuse it and find other options when possible.

A sulfate-free anionic surfactant, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, works incredibly well to create a creamy, rich lather in your products.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is available as a white colored, fine powder.
While producing a lot of foam, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate is much milder than sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS).
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is used as a cleansing, foam-boosting, and skin-conditioning agent in cosmetics and personal care products.

Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate (MES) is an anionic surfactant, it is one of the mildest anionic surfactants.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate has not only good emulsification and foaming properties, but also very low skin and eye irritation, making it very suitable for personal cleansing products.
Used in skin cleansing products, Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate has moderate degreasing power and is very easy to rinse off.
After use, the skin feels fresh and natural, which is especially suitable for daily cleaning requirements.

Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate is obtained via an esterification and sulfonation reaction.
In the esterification reaction, lauryl alcohol and maleic anhydride react to form lauryl maleate.
In the sulfonation reaction, lauryl maleate reacts with sodium bisulfite to produce the byproduct, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate.

Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is often incorrectly compared to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) because they are both used in cosmetic products as a foaming agent and emulsifier.
SLS is another common chemical found in cosmetic products such as shampoos, scalp treatments, and body washes.
The biggest difference between the two chemicals is that sodium lauryl sulfate is less chemically modified and contains smaller molecules that can penetrate and irritate the skin. Therefore Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is considered more hazardous to the skin.

Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is an anionic surfactant of Sulfosuccinate.
After special treatment, the Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate has a small odor and good stability, and is easy to use.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate has a high Krafft point, its high concentration of aqueous solution at room temperature can form a large number of crystals, so the production of bright pearlescent paste, good spread, paste stability, no thinning, no water, very little affected by temperature.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is the ideal raw material for weak acid paste washing products.

Uses
Shampoos, bubble bath, bath bombs, soap bars, and base ingredients for body washes can all contain Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate works as a surfactant or cleansing agent, emulsifier, and conditioning agent in cosmetics.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is compatible with anionic, nonionic, amphoteric surfactants.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is milder and less irritating than SLS.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is used at up to 3% in leave-on and at up to 7% in rinse-off products.
Skin care: Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is a desired ingredient in "syndet bars" (soap less soaps) because of its excellent foaming capabilities

Hair care: Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate will clean the hair without robbing them of moisture, the way some harsh sulphates do
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is a surfactant.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is a disodium salt of ethoxylated lauryl alcohol bound to sulfosuccinic acid.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is primarily used in cleansing products, including bubble baths, bath soaps and detergents, shampoos and shaving cream.

Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate can be compounded with various surfactants to reduce their irritation and improve product performance.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is a suitable raw material for mild detergent, shampoo (such as baby shampoo), bath lotion, facial cleanser and cosmetics;
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate can also be used as emulsifier, softener, wetting agent, foaming agent, etc.

Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is similar in activity to disodium lauroamphodiacetate, it helps boost foam, and acts as a surfactant while helping enhance the water solubility of other surfactants.
In addition, Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is a cleansing agent, with degreasing and skin-conditioning properties.
Disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate is reported to be mild, with low irritation potential, and would most often be found in cleansing products for skin or hair.
