Alcohols, Dispex Ultra FA 4430 are non-ionic surfactants derived from the ethoxylation of fatty alcohols with carbon chain lengths ranging from 12 to 14 carbon atoms.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430's typically exhibit excellent emulsifying, wetting, and dispersing properties, making them valuable in various applications, including personal care products, detergents, and industrial formulations.
They are characterized by their hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) values, which influence their solubility and effectiveness in different environments.
Ethoxylated alcohols are generally biodegradable and have low toxicity, making them environmentally friendly options.
Additionally, they can enhance the stability of emulsions and improve the performance of cleaning products by reducing surface tension.
However, the specific properties, such as viscosity and cloud point, can vary based on the degree of ethoxylation and the presence of other ingredients in formulations.
Overall, these surfactants are versatile and widely used in both consumer and industrial applications due to their functional benefits.

Dispex Ultra FA 4430 is a non-ionic surfactant that belongs to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols with the INCI name: Laureth-7.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430 co-creates a group of surfactants based on lauryl alcohol with a carbon distribution of C12-C14.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430 takes the form of a colorless or light yellow liquid with a color of max.
Hazen 70 at 25°C.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430 has good solubility in water.
The value of the HLB parameter for Dispex Ultra FA 4430 is about 13.
The commercial product contains about 90% of the active substance and solidifies at about 5°C.

Dispex Ultra FA 4430, thanks to its very good detergency, wetting, dispersing and emulsifying properties, is perfect as a basic surfactant in liquid and powder detergents, dishwashing liquids, household and technical cleaning agents and hand cleaners.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430 can also be used in the environment of oxidizing and reducing agents and hard water.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430's activation can be seen in cold water, acidic baths, neutral and dilute alkalis.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430 can be used in a mixture with other non-ionic auxiliary agents and in mixtures with anionic and cationic surfactants.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430 exhibits its synergistic washing and cleaning effects in a mixture with alkyl sulphates and alkylaryl sulphonates.

Dispex Ultra FA 4430 is used in many cosmetic preparations, e.g. for washing and care of the skin and hair, in color cosmetics, sunscreen, shaving and aftershave cosmetics.
In addition, Dispex Ultra FA 4430 is used in the processes of pre-treatment of fibers, where it acts as a component of a formulation that removes oil stains (mineral oils) from fabrics / knitted fabrics that arose during industrial knitting and weaving processes.
Due to its wetting properties on cotton fabric, Dispex Ultra FA 4430 can be used as a component of bleaching compositions for raw knitted fabrics and cotton fabrics.
During the final stages of the textile dyeing process, Dispex Ultra FA 4430 removes excess dyes from the bath.

Dispex Ultra FA 4430 is biodegradable in the natural environment.
C12-14 ethoxylated alcohols are a category of nonionic surfactants that are manufactured through the process of adding ethylene oxide to fatty alcohols, which in turn are derived from either natural or synthetic sources.
These substances are commonly utilized in various industries due to their unique properties.
They are known for their ability to reduce surface tension in liquids, which makes them effective in applications such as detergents, emulsifiers, and wetting agents.
Typically, these compounds manifest as clear, viscous liquids or pastes, which makes them easy to handle and incorporate into formulations.
The ethoxylation process not only enhances their solubility in water but also improves their compatibility with other ingredients, thus making them versatile components in many formulations.
Their nonionic nature means they do not ionize in solution, which contributes to their stability and effectiveness in a wide pH range.

This makes them particularly useful in products where harsh chemicals or extreme pH conditions are not desirable.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430 is aliphatic polyether with acidic groups.
Acts as a dispersing agent.
Offers benefits such as reduced grinding and dispersion time, increased pigment loading in the mill-base or pigment concentrate enabling to achieve VOC level below 250 g/l in highly filled solvent-based system and improved gloss, levelling and flow.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430 is used in hot melt, solvent-based, solvent-free, reactive, water based and radiation curing adhesives and in sealants.

Also Dispex Ultra FA 4430's antifoaming performance is quite good.

Uses
Dispex Ultra FA 4430 can be used as an antistatic agent and emulsifier in cosmetics, but it has a high possibility of causing skin irritation and acne.
Dispex Ultra FA 4430 is widely used in detergents, personal care products, and industrial cleaning agents for their excellent emulsifying, wetting, and dispersing properties.
They are also used in textile processing, agricultural formulations, and as solubilizers in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
Additionally, they serve as stabilizers in emulsions and are key components in various household cleaning products.

Synthesis
KOH(1g) and dodecanol (24.8 g ) were heated to 85° C in the reactor, then vacuumed and filled with nitrogen for 2 to 3 times.
The mixtrue was heated to 120 ℃~130℃, and added with ethylene oxide (EO), propylene oxide (PO) or their mixture.
After the reaction is completed, the solution was neutralized with H2SO4(98%) and filtered to give Laureth-4.
