EDENOR C12-14 MY (LAURIC-MYRISTIC ACID)

CAS NO: 67762-40-7

EDENOR C12-14 MY (LAURIC-MYRISTIC ACID) is saturated fatty acids.
This formal name is dodecanoic acid and tetradecanoic acid, respectively.
Both are white solids that are very slightly soluble in water.
In chemistry, particularly in biochemistry, a EDENOR C12-14 MY (LAURIC-MYRISTIC ACID) is a carboxylic acid with an aliphatic chain, which is either saturated or unsaturated.
Most naturally occurring EDENOR C12-14 MY (LAURIC-MYRISTIC ACID) have an unbranched chain of an even number of carbon atoms, from 4 to 28.
EDENOR C12-14 MY (LAURIC-MYRISTIC ACID) is a major component of the lipids (up to 70% by weight) in some species such as microalgae but in some other organisms are not found in their standalone form, but instead exist as three main classes of esters: triglycerides, phospholipids, and cholesteryl esters.
In any of these forms, EDENOR C12-14 MY (LAURIC-MYRISTIC ACID) is both important dietary sources of fuel for animals and important structural components for cells.

Uses

Like many other EDENOR C12-14 MY (LAURIC-MYRISTIC ACID), is inexpensive, has a long shelf-life, is nontoxic, and is safe to handle.
EDENOR C12-14 MY (LAURIC-MYRISTIC ACID) is used mainly for the production of soaps and cosmetics.
For these purposes, EDENOR C12-14 MY (LAURIC-MYRISTIC ACID) is reacted with sodium hydroxide to give sodium laurate, which is a soap.
Most commonly, sodium laurate is obtained by saponification of various oils, such as coconut oil.
These precursors give mixtures of sodium laurate and other soaps.
EDENOR C12-14 MY (LAURIC-MYRISTIC ACID) is a precursor to dilauroyl peroxide, a common initiator of polymerizations.
