EMEROX 1110

EMEROX 1110 is an azelaic acid derived from natural, renewable sources.

EMEROX 1110 is a technical grade of azelaic acid which typically contains 79% azelaic acid, 19% other dibasic acids and 2% monobasic acids.
EMEROX 1110 has found extensive application in the preparation of lowtemperature and polymeric type vinyl plasticizers, ester-based synthetic lubricants, and lithium complex grease.

CAS Number: 123-99-9
EC Number: 204-669-1
Molecular Formula: C9H16O4
Molecular Weight (g/mol): 188.223

EMEROX 1110 improves flexibility and provides derivatives with lower melting points than derivatives based on even-carbon acids while also providing good solubility characteristics.

EMEROX 1110 saponifies readily with sodium and potassium hydroxide to form metal salts which are highly water soluble.
Salts of calcium, magnesium, aluminum, and other metals are insoluble in water and in common organic solvents.

EMEROX 1110 is widely used as a complexing agent for lithium complex grease.
Here EMEROX 1110 provides high dropping points along with improved mechanical stability, water resistance and oil separation properties.
EMEROX 1110 also has a lower melting point than other commonly used complexing agents which results is faster cycle times and improved ease of use.

EMEROX 1110 react with azelaic acid to form relatively high boiling diesters.
These diesters are used as base fluids for synthetic lubricants and greases where they exhibit excellent viscosity/temperature relationships.
Compounded lubricants and greases incorporating azelate base stocks are used in military and commercial aircraft engines, for electrical and other power requirements, for aircraft and space vehicle instruments, and for other equipment and instrumentation requiring maximum lubrication performance over a broad temperature range.

EMEROX 1110 has more recently found important application in synergistic blends with other dibasic acid to provide corrosion protection to iron and steel surfaces.
Amine and hydroxide salts provide excellent rust control for aqueous applications including engine coolants, metal cleaners and metalworking fluids.
Our dibasic acid blends, when neutralized into water based formulations, also exhibit improved foam control and hard water stability compared to most other individual and blended acids.

EMEROX 1110 is a saturated dicarboxylic acid found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley.
EMEROX 1110 is a natural substance that is produced by Malassezia furfur (also known as Pityrosporum ovale), a yeast that lives on normal skin.

EMEROX 1110 is effective against a number of skin conditions, such as mild to moderate acne, when applied topically in a cream formulation of 20%.
EMEROX 1110 works in part by stopping the growth of skin bacteria that cause acne, and by keeping skin pores clear.
EMEROX 1110 antimicrobial action may be attributable to inhibition of microbial cellular protein synthesis.

EMEROX is a range of bio-based polyols (70 - 100% range).
They are used to manufacture a broad range of end products and applications including flexible foam, rigid foam and elastomers.

These products are based on renewable azelaic (C9 dibasic) acids and other naturally derived acids.
EMEROX polyols offer a high level of design freedom and can replace petroleum-based polyols.
They offer enhanced performance properties, increased efficiencies and sustainability.

EMEROX 1110 enhances the properties of a product by:
Impoving flexibility,
Providing derivatives with lower melting points than derivatives based on even-carbon acids,
Initiating reactions resulting in higher molecular weight compounds, Improving dye receptivity,
Providing better solubility characteristics.

Applications of EMEROX 1110:
Lubricant Basestocks,
Lithium Complex Greases,
Thermosetting Unsaturated Polyester Resins,

EMEROX 1110 for patients:

Patients should be told:
To use EMEROX 1110 for the full prescribed treatment period.
To avoid the use of occlusive dressings or wrappings.

To keep EMEROX 1110 away from the mouth, eyes and other mucous membranes.
If EMEROX 1110 does come in contact with the eyes, they should wash their eyes with large amounts of water and consult a physician if eye irritation persists.

If they have dark complexions, to report abnormal changes in skin color to their physician.
Due in part to the low pH of EMEROX 1110, temporary skin irritation (pruritus, burning, or stinging) may occur when EMEROX 1110 is applied to broken or inflamed skin, usually at the start of treatment.

However, this irritation commonly subsides if treatment is continued.
If EMEROX 1110 continues, EMEROX 1110 should be applied only once-a-day, or the treatment should be stopped until these effects have subsided.
If troublesome irritation persists, use should be discontinued, and patients should consult their physician.
