EMULAN OP 25 acts as a high-performance oil in water type of emulsifier.
EMULAN OP 25 offers stabilization of emulsions, dispersions and latices against thermal, mechanical and chemical effects.
EMULAN OP 25 can be used alone or in combination with anionic emulifiers such as Emulphor OPS 25 or with cationic emulsifiers in emulsion polymerization processes.

EMULAN OP 25 is used in emulsion polymerization processes for many different types of monomer such as acrylic esters, styrene and vinyl compounds (with 1-5% addition level).
Also, EMULAN OP 25 is used for emulsifying ester waxes and fatty acids (with 5-15% addition level) and disperse systems (with 0.5-5% addition level).

EMULAN OP 25 are nonionic surfactants composed of ethylene oxide adduct of Octylphenol.
EMULAN OP 25 vary in physical appearance from clear or slightly hazy, colorless liquids to white solids, depending upon the level of ethoxylation.

EMULAN OP 25 up to 6 Moles are water dispersible.
The high-mole Ethoxylates greater than 7 moles & above usually are soluble in water & also soluble in most Polar solvents.
In general, with increase in the ethylene oxide chain attached to Octylphenol hydrophobe increases the HLB value (water solubility), pour point, cloud point, density, viscosity, and flash point of the ethoxylate.

EMULAN OP 25 can be used in a wide range of applications such as Emulsifiers & Wetting Agents, Industrial and institutional cleaners, Agricultural chemicals and Textile and leather processing.

EMULAN OP 25 can also be used in ether sulfates and ether carboxylates, Cosmetics as well as other industrial and agricultural applications.
EMULAN OP 25 can be used to make phosphate esters, which are useful as dispersants, low-foam emulsifiers, and anti-static agents.

EMULAN OP 25 Surfactants are used in many types of liquid, paste, and powder cleaning compounds.
This ranges from heavy-duty industrial cleaners to gentle detergents.

EMULAN OP 25 are key ingredients in emulsifier mixtures used in emulsion polymerization and stabilizers of latex polymers.
EMULAN OP 25 are also commonly used in pigment wetting and stabilization in coatings.

EMULAN OP 25 are offered in a wide range of HLB to match your specific wetting and dispersing requirements.
EMULAN OP 25 Series surfactants range in degrees of ethoxylation from 1.5 moles to 40 moles.

Uses of EMULAN OP 25:
Use special emulsifier for the manufacture of emulsion polymers, especially for vinylacetate or acrylic homopolymers and copolymers.
On account of EMULAN OP 25 chemical composition, EMULAN OP 25 combines the advantages of non-ionic and anionic emulsifiers, and can therefore be used as the sole emulsifier for emulsion polymerization.

Applications of EMULAN OP 25:
The Emulan types can be used to prepare oil-in-water and water-in-oilemulsions.
Individual products can usually be classified as being oil-in-water or water-in-oil emulsifiers, but EMULAN OP 25 is often difficult to allocate combina-tions of different emulsifiers to either of these categories.

EMULAN OP 25 is also difficultto categorize emulsions that deviate from the norm in that, for instance, they consist of more than two phases.
Some of the products in the Emulan range can also be used to dispersesolids such as waxes, polymers or rubber latex in water, and to stabilizeaqueous dispersions.

Dispersions of this type are employed as impregnat-ing resins, lubricants, polishes and protective coatings, and they can beused to dedust powders.
The choice of emulsifier plays a large part in determining the stability ofemulsions.

The nature of the hydrophilic and lipophilic components of theemulsifier molecule and the proportions of hydrophilic and lipophilicgroups determine their performance and the applications open to them.
Oil-in-water emulsions are usually obtained if the emulsifier molecule ispredominantly hydrophilic, and water-in-oil emulsions are obtained if theemulsifier molecule is predominantly hydrophobic

The ratio between the two parts of the molecule is expressed by thehydrophilic lipophilic balance (HLB).
The hydrophilic lipophilicbalance is a useful practical guide to the applications open to differentemulsifiers, but the final choice of emulsifier always depends on the resultsof practical tests in the laboratory.

The usual method is to use a combination of two or more emulsifiers, because this approach offers greater scope.
The Emulan types have theadvantage that they are compatible with each other, with cationic andanionic emulsifiers, and with many other substances.

Emulsions preparedwith emulsifiers from the Emulan range are largely insensitive to variationsin temperature.
They are largely unaffected by the presence of soil and, toa lesser extent, electrolytes.
As with all other nonionic emulsifiers, the performance of the Emulan typescan be affected by tannins, other substances of a phenolic nature, andcomplex acids such as phosphotungstic acid and EMULAN OP 25 salts.

EMULAN OP 25 types are manufactured by causing the iso-C13 oxo alcohol to react with ethylene oxide in stoichiometric proportions.
The ethoxylation temperature is kept as low as possible.
This, combined with the high purity of the feedstocks, ensures that high-performance products with low toxicity are obtained.
