European Community (EC) Number: 500-151-7

Chemical Name: castor oil based ethoxylate, 36 mol EO
Product Function: Nonionic emulsifier
Chemical Type: Castor oil ethoxylates
INCI Name: PEG-36 Castor Oil
Appearance (25°C): Viscous liquid

Use
EMULSOGEN EL 360 is a nonionic, standard NPE-free emulsifier.

Application and characetristics
EMULSOGEN EL 360 shows excellent emulsification characteristics for many solvents typically used in agrochemical formulations.
Besides that, EMULSOGEN EL 360 is an environmentally friendly and not eye-irritating product.
EMULSOGEN EL 360 could be used to achieve the following crop protection formulation types: Emulsifiable Concentrate [EC], Emulsion in Water [EW], Suspension Concentrate [SC], Suspoemulsion [SE] and Oil Dispersion [OD].
EMULSOGEN EL 360 is often used in combination with anionic emulsifier components such as Phenylsulfonat CA and Phenylsulfonat CAL and other non-ionic emulsifiers as EO-PO block copolymers (EMULSOGEN 3510, EMULSOGEN EP 4901) and EMULSOGEN TS types.

Compatibility
EMULSOGEN EL 360 is miscible with the standard solvents used for Agrochemical formulations, including vegetable oils and its esters, aromatic solvents, mineral oil, N-alkyl-pyrrolidones, N,N-dimethyl-alkanamides among others.

Typical Use Level
As for standard emulsifiers and emulsifier packages, typical rates are around 5 to 15 % with respect to the oil phase.
Mixing with other emulsifiers might allow to reduce the use level and increase emulsion stability.

Emulsogen EL products are standard NPE-free emulsifiers in various EC formulations.
The products show excellent emulsification characteristics for many solvents and are not eye-irritating.

Methode of Emulsogen EL 360:
Emulsogen EL 360 dissolves in the solvents normally use in the manufacture of biocides, forming a clear solution.
Emulsogen EL 360 can therefore be stirred at room temperature, together with the appropriate anionic component, straight into the active ingredient solution.
If necessary Emulsogen EL 360 should be slightly heated.
At any rate the finished concentrate must be completely homogeneous and absolutely clear.
Emulsogen EL 360 must neither form layers nor separate.

When the concentrate is stirred into water spontaneous dispersion occurs.
The corresponding emulsions have very good stability.
The hardness of the water can vary from 0-900 ppm.

Emulsifier combinations of nonionic and anionic surfactants are used successfully for making up a number of biocides in the form of self-emulsifying, liquid concentrates.
Combinations are more adaptable than individual emulsifiers and therefore ultimately also more economical.

Emulsogen EL 360 is a nonionic component which, when used in combination with anionic components such as Phenylsulfonat CA, CAL, is particularly suitable for emulsifying biocides based on the active ingredients of thiophosphoric acid esters such as ethyl parathion, methyl parathion, malathion, fenitrothion and so on.
However, EMULSOGEN EL 360 is also suitable for herbicide active ingredients based on 2,4-D esters and 2,4,5-T esters and insecticide active ingredients from the chlorinated hydrocarbons group, such as toxaphene and chlordan.

It is always advisable to tailor the combination of Emulsogen EL 360 and the anionic components mentioned above to the active ingredients, solvents and concentrations used and make it as effective as possible.

Emulsogen EL 360 combines with an HLB (hydrophilic-lipophilic-balance) value of about 13 emulsifying, dispersing and wetting properties.
Emulsogen EL 360 is used as a dispersing agent for pigments to produce low viscous, stable pigment dispersions or organic pigments in aqueous preparations or solvents.
The recommended usage is 5 - 20 % active material based on the organic pigments.
For inorganic pigments the dosage is 3 – 8% active material based on pigments.

Benefits
-Widely used in numerous registered formulations
-Reliable performance
-Target the green formulation market
-Improved formulation labeling
-Sustainable formulations
-Globally applicable
-Constant formulation properties
-Improved toxicological profile

Storage and Handling
EMULSOGEN EL 360 can be stored in the original containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.
In case of using only part of the container, homogenise the content before product withdrawal.
