Emulsogen LCN 050 is a nonionic emulsifier for industrial applications. 
Emulsogen LCN 050 is composed of alkyl polyethylene glycol ether with 5 mole ethylene oxide. 
Emulsogen LCN 050 contains no additional biocides. 
Emulsogen LCN 050 is used as a wetting agent end emulsifier in emulsions, detergents, paints and coatings.

Emulsogen LCN 050 is used as nonionic emulsifier for the emulsion polymerization of E-PVC.

Use of Emulsogen LCN 050
Emulsogen LCN 050 is used as a wetting agent end emulsifier in emulsions, detergents, paints and coatings.

1.Use in emulsions
Emulsogen LCN 050 is used in o/w emulsions of oils,  fats, silicon oils, polyolefin waxes, alkyd resins, mineral  oils etc. 
Recommended doage: 3 – 7% based on the emulsion

2. Use as wetting agent
Emulsogen LCN 050 is used as a medium foaming wetting agent in aqueous solutions and emulsions.
Emulsogen LCN 050 reduces the surface tension of the aqueous medium and improves the wetting of hard surfaces. 
Emulsogen LCN 050 is used as a wetting agent in industrial cleaning formulations, textile, paper and leather  chemicals, mining chemicals, metal working fluids and  for paints and coatings.
Recommended dosage as wetting agent: 0,1 – 0,5%  based on the formulation.

3. Use in inverse emulsion polymerization
Emulsogen LCN 050 is also used for w/o emulsion e.g. in inverse emulsion polymerization of water soluble monomers in hydrocarbons. 

4. Use in pigment preparations
Emulsogen LCN 050 improves the wetting and dispersing of pigments in aqueous pigment preparations. 
Recommended dosage as dispersing agent: 5 – 35%  based on pigments
Recommended dosage as wetting agent: 1 – 2% based on pigments

5. Use in paints and coatings
Emulsogen LCN 050 is used as wetting in aqueous paints to improve the wetting of coated surfaces. 
Main field of application are architectural paints, industrial and  wood coatings.
Recommended dosage: 0,1 – 0,5 % based on the formulation

Emulsogen LCN 050 by Clariant is a preservative-free, low-VOC, APEO-free, non-ionic emulsifier and dispersing agent for industrial applications. 
Emulsogen LCN 050 improves the shear, temperature and electrolyte stability of polymer dispersions. 
Emulsogen LCN 050 is suitable for emulsion polymerization of monomers like acrylates, styrene-acrylates, styrene-butadiene and vinyl acetate. 
The recommended usage as an emulsifier is 2% active based on monomers. 

This FDA approved & readily biodegradable product also improves the hard water stability. 
The recommended usage as a dispersing agent is 0.1-0.3% as is in the paint formulation. 
Emulsogen LCN 050 is suitable for organic pigments and carbon blacks in water-based pigment preparations. 
The recommended usage is 6-12% as is in the pigment preparation. 
The shelf life of Emulsogen LCN 050 is 730 days.
