ETHOMEEN T/15

Ethomeen T/15 is a multifunctional surfactant belonging to the ethoxylated amine family, obtained by ethoxylating tallow-derived fatty amines. This product offered by Nouryon within the Ethomeen product family; It is evaluated in industrial cleaners, alkaline and acidic cleaning systems, corrosion prevention, emulsification, antistatic applications, textile and leather auxiliaries, oilfield chemicals and certain agricultural auxiliary applications.
The chemical name of Ethhomeen T/15 is Tallow Amine Ethoxylate. The product is associated with CAS No 61791-26-2 and EC / List No 500-153-8. ECHA defines this chemical group as "Amines, tallow alkyl, ethoxylated".
Ethhomeene T/15 is not a single pure molecule. The tallow alkyl chains in the starting feedstock can have different carbon chain lengths, and different ethylene oxide chain distributions can be formed as a result of ethoxylation. Therefore, it is not technically correct to give a single exact molecular formula and a single exact molecular weight for Ethhomeene T/15.
In Nouryon's technical guide for agricultural products, Ethomeen T/15 is described as a tallow amine ethoxylate containing approximately 5 moles of ethylene oxide. The overall structure consists of a combination of hydroxyl-tipped polyoxyethylene chains with the tertiary amine center attached to the long hydrophobic alkyl chain.
One of the important properties of Ethomeen T/15 is its ability to interact with both oily surfaces and the polar water phase. The long alkyl chain of tallow origin provides hydrophobic behavior, while ethoxylated chains impart hydrophilic character. The amine group, on the other hand, can be protonated according to the pH of the environment, which can change the surfactant behavior of the product.
Ethhomeene T/15 exhibits ethoxylated tertiary amine character in the form of free amine. In acidic media, it can acquire a more pronounced cationic character by protonation of the amine group. Therefore, describing the product as merely "nonionic" or merely "cationic" does not fully explain its formulation behavior. The actual ionic behavior depends on the pH of the medium and the other components used.
Ethomeen T/15 low foam emulsification is particularly useful in industrial systems where wetting and corrosion prevention performance are required together. Nouryon positions the product with the functions of alkaline stability, emulsification, corrosion prevention, antistatic property and consistency enhancement.
Ethhomeen T/15 can be used in caustic and strong alkali cleaning formulations. The long alkyl chain interacts with oily soils, while the ethoxylated structure can contribute to dispersion in the water phase. Thus, it can be used as a component of surfactant systems that help remove oil and process residues on metal surfaces.
Ethomeen T/15 is also considered as a corrosion inhibitor and cleaning additive in petroleum production and refining applications. The amine structure that can be adsorbed on the metal surface can help reduce the interaction between the corrosive environment and the metal.
When purchasing Ethomeen T/15, the trade product name alone is not sufficient. Equivalent mass, tertiary amine ratio, color, water content, viscosity, density, surface tension, solubility and current TDS, SDS and COA values should be evaluated together.

WHAT IS ETHOMEEN T/15?

Ethomeen T/15 is an ethoxylated tallow amine in Nouryon's Ethomeen product family.
Its chemical family is ethoxylated amines. Its chemical name is Tallow Amine Ethoxylate.
It can be called Tallow Amine Ethoxylate in Turkish. CAS No is 61791-26-2. EC / List No is 500-153-8.
Ethomeen T/15 is a commercial product that contains approximately 100% active ingredient.
According to Nouryon's current EMEIA product sheet, it is liquid at 20 °C.
The product consists of a tertiary amine ethoxylate structure with long alkyl chains of tallow origin.
In Nouryon's agricultural products guide, Ethomeen T/15 is defined as a tallow amine ethoxylate containing approximately 5 moles of ethylene oxide. The letter "T" here refers to the alkyl amine structure of tallow origin. "T/15" is the commercial product code.
The expression T/15 does not directly mean that it contains 15 moles of ethylene oxide.
Nouryon defines Ethomeen T/25 as a tallow amine ethoxylate containing approximately 15 ethylene oxide units.
Therefore, the numbers in the Ethomeen product name should not be interpreted as a direct degree of ethoxylation.
The general structure of Ethomeen T/15 can be simplified as: R-N[(CH₂CH₂O)xH][(CH₂CH₂O)yH].
R represents long alkyl chains of tallow origin.
x and y represent the distribution of ethoxylation between molecules.
Since Ethhomeene T/15 is not a single molecule, not all molecules have the same exact number for x and y.
The total average degree of ethoxylation determines the characteristic feature of the production grade.
The tallow-derived alkyl chain forms the hydrophobic section.
Polyoxyethylene chains form the hydrophilic section.
The tertiary amine center acts as a protonable basic group.
This structure gives Ethomeen T/15 a surface active property.
The molecule can be positioned at the oil-water interface.
It can facilitate the contact of the oily phase and the water phase. It can reduce surface tension. It can wet metal surfaces.
It can help emulsify certain oil or wax systems in water. It can adsorb onto the metal surface, contributing to the anti-corrosion effect.
There is a tertiary amine structure in the form of a free base. When acid is added, the amine group can be protonated.
In this case: R-NR₂ + H⁺ → R-NH⁺R₂ type positively charged ammonium structure occurs.
Therefore, the ionic character of Ethomeene T/15 can vary depending on the pH.
In acidic environment, the adsorption behavior and cationic character to metal surfaces may be more pronounced.
In alkaline media, free amine and ethoxylated surfactant character is more dominant.
This feature is one of the reasons why Ethomeen T/15 can be used with different functions in both acid cleaning and caustic cleaning systems.

Nouryon Ethomeen T/15 in particular:

Thickener

Wax emulsion aid

Antistatic agent

Chemical intermediate

Anti-corrosion

Emulsification aid

Excipient

It classifies it as an alkaline stable surfactant.
And in oilfield applications, their primary function is corrosion prevention and cleaning.
Ethomeen T/15 may exhibit low foam behavior.
In the current EMEIA technical sheet, Nouryon gives the foam height as 35 mm at the beginning and 35 mm again at the end of 5 minutes by using the Ross-Miles method at 50 °C in 0.05% solution.
This feature can be advantageous in industrial cleaning systems where high foam is not desired.
The wetting power of Ethomeen T/15 is also the measurable technical parameter.
In the Nouryon EMEIA technical sheet, a soaking time of approximately 80 seconds is given according to the Draves method in 0.1% solution at 25 °C.
The surface tension is about 31 mN/m under the same conditions.
These values indicate that the product can improve surface wetting by lowering the surface tension of water.

It is soluble in propylene glycol.

It is soluble in solvents with low aromatic content.

It is soluble in white spirit.

It is soluble in xylene.

Nouryon describes the current EMEIA technical sheet as water-soluble.
Ethhomeene is not a T/15 defined single molecule chemical.
Since tallow has alkyl chain distribution and ethoxylation distribution, it is not correct to give a single molecular formula or a single molecular weight.
In the commercial standardization of the product, parameters such as equivalent mass, tertiary amine ratio, water and color are therefore more meaningful.

CHEMICAL STRUCTURE AND MOLECULAR PROPERTIES OF ETHHOMEEN T/15

The basic structure of Ethhomeen T/15 is ethoxylated tertiary amine bearing a long-chain fatty alkyl group.
Because tallow amines are produced from natural fatty acid origin, the R alkyl chain does not consist of a single chain length.
For this reason, the commercial product contains different long-chain amine derivatives together.
Ethoxylated hydroxyethyl chains attached to the amine center increase the hydrophilic character of the product.

Simplified structure: R-N[(CH₂CH₂O)xH][(CH₂CH₂O)yH].

R: It is the hydrophobic tallow alkyl group.

N: It is the tertiary amine center.

-(CH₂CH₂O)- units: Forms hydrophilic polyoxyethylene chains.

End -OH groups: Can contribute to hydrogen bonding interaction with water and polar phases.

The long hydrocarbon chain interacts with oily soils and hydrophobic surfaces.

The ethoxylated region interacts with water.

Thanks to this amphiphilic structure, Ethomeen T/15 can accumulate on surfaces and interfaces.

It can lower the water-air surface tension.

It can stabilize the oil-water interface.

It can make it easier for solid surfaces to get wet.

The amine group is also the basic center.

It can be protonated in an acidic environment.

This changes the electrical charge of the molecule.

Protonated amine:

Metal surfaces

Mineral surfaces

Fibers

and other surfaces that can show a negative character

may exhibit stronger electrostatic interaction.

This property is important for corrosion prevention and antistatic behavior.
Long-chain amine derivatives adsorbed onto the metal surface can help form an organic film on the surface.
Hydrophobic alkyl chains can be oriented towards the liquid phase.
This film can contribute to reducing corrosive water, acid, or ions from reaching the metal surface.

In Ethhomeen T/15, the degree of ethoxylation is one of the key factors determining the hydrophilic-hydrophobic balance.
As the number of ethoxyethylene units increases, the hydrophilic character increases in general.
Therefore, the solubility and emulsification behavior of higher ethoxylated Ethhomeen T/25 and Ethhomeen T/15 are not the same.
In Nouryon's agricultural portfolio, the HLB value for Ethomeen T/15 is given as approximately 10.
In the North American technical sheet, the HLB value was reported as 11.2 according to the Davies scale.
The single HLB value should not be used as a purchase specification, as this difference may be due to the data source and calculation approach used.

The main properties of Ethomeen T/15 at the molecular level are:

HOW DOES ETHOENE T/15 WORK AT THE MOLECULAR LEVEL?

The primary working mechanism of Ethomeen T/15 stems from its amphiphilic nature, capable of adsorption to surfaces and interfaces.
When present in water, the hydrophilic ethoxylated region interacts with the water phase.
The long alkyl chain, on the other hand, tends to move away from water.

Molecules:

At the water-air interface

at the water-oil interface

and at the water-solid interface

can be positioned.

As a result, surface tension is reduced.

Water can spread more easily on a dirty or oily surface.

Soaking heals.

It may be easier for the cleaning fluid to reach the dirt layer.
On oily dirt, the alkyl chain tends to the hydrophobic phase.
The ethoxylated part remains in the water phase.
This structure can support the transport of oil in water by breaking it down into small droplets.
This mechanism forms the basis of its emulsification function.
The amine center of Ethomeen T/15 is pH-sensitive.
It can form a positively charged structure by protonating in an acidic environment.
The positively charged amine group can adsorb to metal surfaces and other polar surfaces.
The long hydrophobic chain, on the other hand, can help limit the contact of the protective organic layer with water.

For this reason, Ethomeen T/15 can be used as a component of anti-corrosion systems.
Two functions can become important at the same time in acid cleaning.
The surfactant helps to wet and remove dirt.
The amine structure, on the other hand, can help limit the acid's attack on the metal by adsorbing the metal surface.
This explains the technical value of Ethomeen T/15 in acid cleaning and oilfield corrosion prevention applications.
In alkaline cleaning systems, the alkali stability of the product is important.
Nouryon defines Ethomeen T/15 as a product that can be used especially in caustic cleaners.
In the strongly alkaline system, surface active and emulsification properties can be used during the removal of oily soils.
The foam level of Ethomeen T/15 may be limited compared to conventional high-foam detergent surfactants.

This feature:

Spray industrial cleaning

Circulating cleaning

Metal parts cleaning

High-pressure systems

It can be advantageous in applications where foam may become a process problem.

The main functions of Ethomeen T/15 at the formulation level are:

Reducing surface tension

Improving wetting of metal and solid surfaces

Aiding in the emulsification of greasy soils

Ensuring low foam

Adsorb to metal surface

Contributing to corrosion prevention

Creating an antistatic effect

Supporting candle emulsions

Developing consistency in some systems

To be used as a chemical intermediate

To provide surface active performance in alkaline environment

IN WHICH SECTORS IS ETHOMEEN T/15 USED?

Main areas of use:

Caustic cleaners

Alkaline cleaning systems

Acid cleaners

Metal surface cleaners

Metal parts cleaning products

Degreasers

Industrial cleaners

Corporate cleaning systems

Low foam cleaners

Anti-corrosion formulations

Petroleum production chemicals

Refinery cleaning systems

Oil handling and process systems

Wetting and penetration systems

Nouryon's current product page clearly states caustic cleaners, acid cleaning, automotive polishes, textile and leather auxiliaries, as well as petroleum production and refining applications for Ethomeen T/15.
In Nouryon's agricultural products guide, Ethomeen T/15 is positioned as a penetration aid in soluble concentrate systems.

CLEANING, METAL SURFACE AND CORROSION PREVENTION APPLICATIONS OF ETHOMEEN T/15

Industrial cleaning is one of the main uses of Ethomeen T/15.

Possible functions of Ethomeen T/15 in cleaning formulations include:

Wetting oily surfaces

Reducing surface tension

Supporting the transport of oily soils to the water phase

Improving emulsification

Ensuring low-foam cleaning

Holding on to the metal surface

Contributing to the formation of anti-corrosion film

Working in caustic systems

Supporting acid cleaning systems

Contributing to the antistatic effect after cleaning

Ethomeen T/15 is positioned as a particularly suitable product for caustic cleaners.
In caustic cleaning formulations, high alkalinity can be useful for saponification of oils and dissolution of impurities.
However, alkaline substances alone do not always ensure rapid and uniform wetting of the surface.
By reducing surface tension, Ethomeen T/15 can help spread the cleaning solution over the metal and dirt layer.
Emulsifying the oil phase can contribute to reducing the re-adhesion of the cleaned dirt to the surface.
Low foam property is also important for industrial equipment.

Excessive foam in circulation or spray cleaning systems:

It can impair pump performance.

It may cause tank overflow.

It can increase rinsing time.

It can make process control difficult.

The low foam profile of Ethomeen T/15 can be advantageous in this type of system.
Corrosion control is particularly important in acid cleaning.
It can dissolve acid oxide, rust or mineral residues.
But at the same time, it can attack the base metal surface.
The amine structure of Ethomeen T/15 can help reduce this attack by adsorbing to the metal surface.
This property may gain importance in oilfield pickling and industrial desiccant systems.
The actual anti-corrosion performance should be verified by laboratory metal loss or electrochemical tests.
The availability of Ethomeen T/15 alone is not a guarantee of adequate corrosion protection for every metal and every acid system.

OILFIELD, TEXTILE, LEATHER AND AGRICULTURAL APPLICATIONS OF ETHOMEEN T/15

Nouryon positions Ethomeen T/15 as a corrosion inhibitor and cleaning additive in oilfield applications.

Metal equipment in petroleum production, refining and transportation systems:

Water

Salts

Acid gases

organic acids

and process chemicals

may come into contact with.

These environments can increase the risk of corrosion.

The amine function of Ethomeen T/15 can adsorb to the metal surface, contributing to the formation of a protective organic film.
The long hydrophobic chain can help reduce the direct contact of the metal surface with the water phase.
However, oilfield corrosion formulations usually do not consist of a single raw material.

Solvent

Other amens

Quaternary ammonium compounds

Wetting aids

Distributors

and other contributions

can be used together.

For this reason, Ethomeen T/15 is often a component of the total anti-corrosion package.
In textile and leather applications, surfactant and antistatic behavior is important.
Amine derivatives that adsorb to the fiber surface can help reduce the accumulation of static electricity.
The ethoxylated structure promotes dispersion within the system.
It can be used as an emulsifier in wax or oil emulsions.
It can be considered as an auxiliary substance that supports the distribution of oily components in the aqueous environment in the leather process.
The exact usage depends on the pH of the process and other ionic substances.
In agricultural formulations, Ethomeen T/15 can be used as a wetting and penetration aid.

For Ethomeen T/15 in Nouryon's guide to agricultural products:

Active ingredient: 100%

pH: about 8–9, in 1% aqueous solution

Critical micelle concentration: about 0.006 g/L

Surface tension: approx. 31 mN/m

Contact angle: approx. 61°

Draves soaking time: about 80 seconds

HLB: about 10

values are reported.

This information can be useful in evaluating agricultural formulation performance.
However, the use of surfactant in pesticide formulation is subject to the pesticide and excipient legislation of the target country.
The fact that it is technically suitable does not mean that it can be used as a regulator in all agricultural products.

IS ETHOMEEN T/15 USED IN FOOD, COSMETICS AND PHARMACEUTICAL APPLICATIONS?

Ethomeen T/15 is mainly industrial surfactant and process additive.

The main uses of Nouryon on the current product page:

Cleaning

Agricultural formulations

oil field

Metal and surface treatments

Textile and leather auxiliaries

It is given as.

Ethomeen T/15 should not be considered as a direct food additive.
It should not be assumed to be a food-grade surfactant.
No general claims of suitability should be made for the use of the standard Ethomeen T/15 product directly in food formulation.
For cosmetic applications, it should not be assumed that the product is suitable only by looking at its chemical family.
Not every amine ethoxylate in the ethhomeene family has the same personal care or cosmetic status.
Manufacturer legislation documents and target market conditions should be checked separately for exact cosmetic application.
The standard technique in pharmaceutical practice should not be assumed to be of pharmaceutical excipient quality Ethomeen T/15.

If pharmaceutical use is targeted:

Pharmacopoeia compliance

GMP status

Impurity profile

Production Control

and application-specific legislation

It should also be verified.

The main area of use of Ethomeen T/15 is in technical and industrial formulations.

WHAT PROBLEMS CAN ETHOMEEN T/15 SOLVE?

Ethomeen T/15 can help solve a variety of problems, especially in formulations where low foam cleaning, corrosion control, surface wetting and oil emulsification are required.

Metal cleaner does not wet the surface fast enough

By reducing surface tension, Ethomeen T/15 can help spread the cleaning solution across the metal surface.

Oily dirt cannot be transported to the water phase

Its hydrophobic alkyl chain and hydrophilic ethoxylate structure can promote oil-water emulsification.

Too much foam in industrial cleaner

Low foam Ethomeen T/15 can help reduce the foam profile of the surfactant.

Insufficient surfactant performance in caustic cleaning formulation

Ethomeen T/15 can be used as an alkaline stable product in caustic cleaning systems.

High metal loss during acid cleaning

Thanks to its ability to adsorption to the metal surface, it can be used as a component of the anti-corrosion package.

Oilfield equipment has corrosion problem

Ethomeen T/15 can contribute to the formation of a protective organic film on the metal surface in the appropriate formulation.

Candle emulsion is unstable

In the appropriate formulation, it can help stabilize the oil-water interface.

Acid component - Citric acid monohydrate: 3.00% (in all samples)

Ethomeen T/15 (approx. 100% active): 0.00% (control); 0.10% (A); 0.25% (B); 0.50% (C)

Co-surfactant - C9–11 alcohol ethoxylate: 0.30% (in all samples)

Hydrotrope - Sodium xylene sulfonate (40% aqueous solution): 1.00% (in all samples)

Total: Control 100.00%; A 100.00%; B 100.00%; C 100.00% (by weight)

Metal sample: Not included in the formulation; coupons prepared from the same alloy, with standard surface area, are used separately.

Test temperature: Kept at the same temperature in all samples; the initial target for comparison is 25 °C.

Test duration: The same time is applied for all samples; 60 minutes can be selected for the first screening.

The acid concentration remains constant in all samples. As the ethhomeene T/15 ratio rises, only the amount of water is reduced. This sample with citric acid is not a validated corrosion inhibitor recipe for mineral acid systems; performance and acid/metal compatibility must be verified by experiment.

Application approach:

The metal coupons are cleaned and their initial weight is measured.

Different levels of Ethhomeen T/15 are added to the same acid medium.

Samples are kept at constant temperature.

At the end of the specified period, metal coupons are issued.

The surface is cleaned and dried.

Mass loss is measured.

The corrosion rate is compared.

The surface appearance is evaluated.

The cleaning performance is also checked.

With adequate cleaning, the level that provides the lowest metal loss is determined.

ALTERNATIVES AND COMPARISON OF ETHOMEEN T/15

When selecting the alternative for Ethhomeen T/15, one should not look at the chemical family alone. The degree of ethoxylation, alkyl chain source, equivalent mass, solubility, wetting, emulsification, foaming, and anti-corrosion behavior should be evaluated together.

ETHOMEEN T/15 AND ETHOMEEN T/12

Ethomeen T/12 is a Nouryon product in the tallow amine ethoxylate family.
Ethhomeen T/12 is a lower ethoxylated and more lipophilic product.
In the Nouryon product data, the equivalent mass of Ethomeen T/12 is approximately 340–360 g/eq.
For Ethomeen T/15, the EMEIA specification is 471–506 g/eq.
The lower ethoxylation level of Ethomeen T/12 can differentiate its interaction with the oil phase and the metal surface.
Ethhomeen T/15, on the other hand, provides different water solubility and emulsification balance due to its higher ethoxylated structure.
The two products should not be used directly interchangeably by weight.

ETHOMEEN T/15 AND ETHOMEEN T/25

Ethhomeene T/25 is identified by Nouryon as a tallow amine ethoxylate containing 15 ethylene oxide units.
Ethomeen T/25 has a higher degree of ethoxylation than Ethomeen T/15.
Therefore, it shows a more hydrophilic character.
In the Nouryon cleaning product catalog, an equivalent mass of approximately 869–952 g/eq is given for Ethomeen T/25, while a range of 471–506 g/eq is given for Ethomeen T/15.
The higher hydrophilic character of Ethomeen T/25 can alter its water-phase compatibility and emulsification behavior.
Ethomeen T/15 can provide a different advantage in systems that require stronger hydrophobic-hydrophilic balance and wetting behavior.
Two products should not be replaced one-to-one in the same formulation.

ETHOMEEN T/15 AND ETHOMEEN C/15

Ethhomeen C/15 is a tertiary amine ethoxylate produced from a primary amine originating from coconut oil.
Ethomeene T/15, on the other hand, is derived from tallow amine.
The initial oil alkyl chain distributions are therefore different.
Nouryon reports approximately 410–435 g/eq equivalent mass for Ethomeen C/15 and liquid form at 25 °C.
The EMEIA equivalent mass range of Ethomeene T/15 is 471–506 g/eq.
Ethomeen C/15's differentiated and generally shorter fat alkyl chain distribution may alter solubility and surfactant behavior.
The two products should not be considered equivalent just because they are "amine ethoxylates".

ETHOMEEN T/15 AND ETHOMEEN O/12

Ethhomeene O/12 is an oleyl amine-based ethoxylated tertiary amine.
The oleyl chain carries a distinct unsaturated C18 character.
Ethomeene T/15, on the other hand, has a wider alkyl distribution of tallow origin.

Nouryon Ethomeen O/12:

Thickener

acid degreaser

Antistatic agent

Anti-corrosion

Distributor

and emulsification aid

It positions it as.

Some of these functions may overlap with the Ethomeen T/15.
However, one-to-one weight substitution should not be performed because the alkyl chain structure, ethoxylation level, and physical properties are different.

ETHOMEEN T/15 AND CLASSIC NONIONIC ALCOHOL ETHOXYLATES

Fatty alcohol ethoxylates are classic nonionic surfactants.
Ethhomeen T/15 is ethoxylated fatty amine that carries an amine center.
The presence of the amine function gives Ethhomeene T/15 pH-dependent protonation.
This property differs significantly from conventional fatty alcohol ethoxylates in terms of adsorption to the metal surface and corrosion prevention.
Alcohol ethoxylates can provide strong wetting and cleaning.
Ethomeen T/15, on the other hand, can also provide corrosion prevention, antistatic effect, and cationic behavior in acidic environment.
Therefore, it should not be assumed that the application performance of two products with the same surface tension value will be the same.

ETHOMEEN T/15 – TECHNICAL SUMMARY

Ethomeen T/15 is ethoxylated tallow amine offered by Nouryon under the Ethomeen family of products.
Its chemical name is Tallow Amine Ethoxylate, and its Turkish equivalent is Tallow Amine Ethoxylate.
CAS No 61791-26-2 and EC/List No 500-153-8 according to ECHA old listing.
Ethhomeene T/15 is not a single molecule pure chemical.
Since tallow origin contains different alkyl chains and ethoxylation distribution, its single molecular formula and single molecular weight are not defined.
The general structure can be represented as R-N[(CH₂CH₂O)xH][(CH₂CH₂O)yH].
In the Nouryon agricultural products guide, Ethomeen T/15 is defined as a tallow amine ethoxylate containing approximately 5 ethylene oxide units.
Therefore, it should not be assumed that the number "15" in the name T/15 directly means 15 EO.
In the current EMEIA specification, Nouryon gives a color maximum of 10 Gardner, equivalent mass 471–506 g/eq, tertiary amine minimum 98% and water maximum 1%.
The product contains 100% active ingredients. It is liquid at 20 °C.
Its density is about 960 kg/m³. Its viscosity at 20 °C is about 160 mPa·s.
Pensky-Martens closed cup flash point is ≥100 °C. Pour point is about 8 °C. Surface tension in 0.1% solution at 25 °C is about 31 mN/m.
According to the Draves method, the wetting time at the same concentration is about 80 seconds.

Ethhomeene T/15 is described as soluble in water, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol, white spirit, xylene, and certain low-aromatic solvents.
The product can be used as a low-foam surfactant, emulsifier, corrosion inhibitor, antistatic additive, thickener, and chemical intermediate.
Its main uses are caustic cleaners, acid cleaning, metal surface treatments, petroleum production and refinery applications, automotive polishes, textile and leather auxiliaries, and certain agricultural formulations.
The amine center of Ethomeene T/15 can be protonated in acidic media.
Therefore, the ionic behavior of the product depends on the pH.
While it shows nonionic ethoxylated amine properties in free amine, it may show more pronounced cationic character in protonated form.
Its adsorption property to the metal surface is one of the important reasons for its anti-corrosion behavior.
The long tallow alkyl chain can contribute to the formation of a hydrophobic layer on the surface.
Ethoxylated chains, on the other hand, support compatibility with the water phase and emulsification.
Ethomeen T/15 and Ethomeen T/12, T/25, C/15 or O/12 are not directly the same product.
The degree of ethoxylation and alkyl chain welding change the solubility, wetting, emulsification and corrosion behavior of the products.
When purchasing Ethomeen T/15, exact Nouryon grade, equivalent mass, tertiary amine ratio, color, water content, viscosity and regional specification should be verified.
It is recommended that companies planning to supply Ethomeen T/15 from Ataman Kimya confirm up-to-date product, stock, origin and offer information by sharing their usage area, acid or alkali system, target wetting and corrosion performance, quantity, packaging and technical document needs.
