FILLERS

A filler is a substance consisting of particles that are practically insoluble in the application medium, which is used to increase the volume or improve the technical properties and / or change the optical properties.

Fillers used in paint and varnish materials and coatings are predominantly light-colored, mostly inorganic powdery substances, inert to this binder, and differ from white pigments by a lower reflectance.

FILLERS FOR PAINTWORK MATERIALS
A filler is a substance consisting of particles that are practically insoluble in the application medium, which is used to increase the volume or improve the technical properties and / or change the optical properties.

Fillers used in paint and varnish materials and coatings are predominantly light-colored, mostly inorganic powdery substances, inert to this binder, and differ from white pigments by a lower reflectance.

Fillers for paintwork materials are used for:

hardening (reinforcement)
improving the mechanical characteristics of coatings (flexural strength, adhesive strength and stress)
gloss control
reducing the cost of paintwork
The risk of coating cracking can be significantly reduced by using fibrous or lamellar fillers. The shape and size of the filler particles also affect the rheological behavior of paintwork materials.

Like pigments, fillers with highly isometric particles can form thixotropic structures due to electrostatic interactions.

Calcite fillers
Barium fillers

CALCITE FILLERS
Calcium carbonate is widely used not only in the paint and varnish industry, but also in other industries such as paper, printing, rubber, etc. Chalk is often used (as a white pigment)
in the production of water-based paints and varnishes, for the manufacture of special-purpose enamels (such as "moire", etc.), anticorrosive primers. Calcite is used to obtain weather
resistant coatings. Chemically precipitated (synthetic) chalk, due to its finely dispersed composition, is necessary to improve the rheological properties, because prevents paintwork
material from dripping on vertical surfaces. ATAMAN offers calcite fillers for the paint and varnish industry and the production of coatings.

BARIUM FILLERS
Natural barium sulfate (barite) and synthetic barium sulfate (blankfix) are widely used as a filler for paintwork materials. ATAMAN Chemicals offers to supply fillers with barium for the paint
and varnish industry and the production of coatings. Barite is chemically inert, therefore it is used in the production of special chemically resistant paints and varnishes.
Barium sulphate is a part of paints, putties, oil-based primers. Synthetic barium sulphate, also known as blancfix, has the highest whiteness of all fillers. Blanfix is a highly dispersed
and chemically inert material that is obtained by precipitation.
