Tridecyl Alcohol Ethoxylates:
Tridecyl alcohol is a branched oxoalcohol used for the ethoxylation of the Genapol X range. Tridecyl alcohol ethoxylated are widely used for industrial applications. Tridecyl alcohol (TDA) ethoxylates are biodegradable nonionic surfactants derived from a branched C13 alcohol and ethoxylated with different moles of ethylene oxide. They provide efficient wetting, good detergency, APEO-free alternatives, relatively low foaming, and exist in liquid form at room temperature (TD alcohol ethoxylate containing upto 10 moles EO). They are widely used in a variety of applications as a biodegradable emulsifier, dispersant, wetting agent, in oilfield, emulsion polymerization, personal care, and inks and coatings applications.
Genapol x 060 is a high active nonionic surfactant providing emulsification, moderate foam, detergency, and excellent wetting. This product finds application in laundry, textiles, hard surface cleaning, paints, carpet cleaning, hand dishwashing, and institutional and industrial cleaning formulations. Genapol X 060 is a nonionic surfactant which is an effective emulsifier and emulsifier blend component for pesticide formulations. It is used as a HLB variable in most formulations, and shows good emulsification properties over a wide HLB range.

The ability to lower the surface tension of water is also related to the degree of ethoxilation.The most effective grades are Genapol X 060 and Genapol X 080. The effect on the surface tension of water decreases as the degree of ethoxilation increases.
The Genapol X grades are noted for their excellent cleaning properties. Whereas Genapol X 060 has a very strong degreasing action and is preferred when greasebound contamination is to be removed, Genapol X 080 is mainly used to remove pigmented contamination.
About Genapol X:
The Genapol X-grades are insensitive to water hardness constituents and largely resistant to the usual chemicals in normal application concentrations.
Like all polyglycol ether derivatives, the Genapol X grades have limited stability to oxidizing agents which evolve chlorine so that their use is restricted to application in dilute solutions. The preparation of highly concentrated mixtures of oxidizing or reducing agents and polyglycol ether derivatives is not possible.
As nonionic surfactants the Genapol X grades can be used together with other products regardless of their ionicity.
The solubility of Genapol X grades in water, like that of most nonionic surfactants, depends on their degree of ethoxylation.
The cloud point of the Genapol X grades, like that of all polyglycol ether derivatives, is a reliable indicator of their degree of ethoxilation.
The surface-active properties of the Genapol X grades, like their solubility, largely depend on the degree of ethoxilation.
The foaming capacity of Genapol X grades varies from moderate to slight according to the degree of ethoxilation. Genapol X 020 has the least tendency to foam. The foaming capacity slightly increases with increasing ethylene glycol content but does not equal that of anionic surface-active compounds.
Owing to their excellent surface-active properties the Genapol X grades have numerous uses. Having excellent wetting action, especially in the lowtemperature range, and marked degreasing and emulsifying properties, they are suitable raw materials and mixture components for the manufacture of universal cleaners in every form.
