GOLPANOL PA

GOLPANOL PA

CAS: 50-00-0
107-19-7

Chemical nature: Propargyl alcohol
Molecular formula: C(3)H(4)O
Chemical family: alcohol
Synonyms: 2-Propyn-1-ol
Molar mass: 56.07 g/mol

Golpanol PA is used as a top brightener in nickel electroplating baths at a concentration of 10-20 mg/l.
Golpanol PA is highly recommended for formulations requiring a good leveling and high brightness.

Golpanol PA is miscible with water.
Golpanol PA is soluble in most organic solvents, but not in petroleum hydrocarbons.

Prop-2-yn-1-ol is a terminal acetylenic compound that is prop-2-yne substituted by a hydroxy group at position 1.

Propargyl alcohol appears as a clear colorless liquid with a geranium-like odor.
Flash point 97°F.
Vapors are heavier than air.

Applications:
Used to make other chemicals, as a corrosion inhibitor and a soil fumigant.
Golpanol PA is used as an inhibitor for the corrosion of steel by hydrochloric acid, as a stabilizer in certain chlorinated hydrocarbon formulations, as a soil fumigant.
The alcohol is an excellent rust inhibitor, superior in this respect to allyl alcohol.
Golpanol PA retains its rust-inhibiting properties at high temperatures and therefore is used for oil drilling.

Prop-2-yn-1-ol is a terminal acetylenic compound that is prop-2-yne substituted by a hydroxy group at position 1.
Prop-2-yn-1-ol has a role as a Saccharomyces cerevisiae metabolite and an antifungal agent.
Prop-2-yn-1-ol is a terminal acetylenic compound, a volatile organic compound and a propynol.

Propargyl alcohol appears as a clear colorless liquid with a geranium-like odor.
Flash point 97°F.
Vapors are heavier than air.
Used to make other chemicals, as a corrosion inhibitor and a soil fumigant.

PROPERTIES:

Physical form: liquid
Concentration: min. 99.3
Density: 0.938 – 0.958

Solubility: Golpanol PA is miscible with water.
Golpanol PA is soluble in most organic solvents, but not in petroleum hydrocarbons.

Handling:
a) Protect from light and heat.
b) Golpanol PA is initially colourless, but it takes on a yellowish coloration after only a short period in storage.
This does not have any effect on its performance.

Shelf life:
Golpanol PA has a shelf life of at least 1 year in its sealed original packaging, provided it is stored properly.
