GOLPANOL PPS

GOLPANOL PPS

CAS Number: 25212-74-2

GOLPANOL PPS, Polyphenylene Sulfide is a semi-crystalline, high performance engineering plastic with very high mechanical qualities (slip resistance, hardness and strength), high temperature properties and chemical resistance that often make it a preferred alternative to metals or thermosets.
GOLPANOL PPS is usually available unfilled, reinforced with glass fiber (30-40%) with up to 65% mineral filler.

PPS material (chemically known as polyphenylen sulfide) is manufactured in standard stock shapes for machining in the form of sheet, rod and tube.
PPS plastic is a semi crystalline, high temperature thermoplastic polymer.
Due to its structure, PPS is a very chemically resistant polymer with very good mechanical strength, even at temperatures above 200°C.
In addition to its low water absorption, PPS polymer also has good dimensional stability and excellent electrical properties.
PPS thermoplastic is chemically very stable, even at high temperatures.
In the marketplace, PPS suppliers offer polyphenylen sulfide resin in PPS reinforced grades, such as PPS GF40 (40% glass fibre reinforced).
On the stock shape side, there are different modifications available from unfilled, to specialty grades.

PPS plastics offer:

High purity characteristics
High crystallinity
Good electrical insulation
High mechanical strength
Excellent high temperature resistance
Very high chemical resistance
Creep resistance
Dimensional stability over wide variations of temperature and moisture levels

TYPICAL PPS APPLICATIONS

Electronic industry: Connectors, contact rails, heat shields, contact pressure discs and special types for semicon production

Automotive industry: "under the hood", fuel and brake systems

Medical industry: Parts for surgical instruments

Mechanical engineering: Compressor and pump-parts, gears, valves, slide bearings, chain guides and base plates

Chemical industry: Valves, taps, bushings, pumps, nozzels, tubes and rollers

GOLPANOL PPS is an aromatic polymer that can be used as a polymer backbone or an engineering plastic.
GOLPANOL PPS is also called as poly(phenylene sulfide) which can be sulfonated to form ion-exchange membranes for electrochemical applications.
GOLPANOL PPS is industrially produced by polycondensation of p-dichlorobenzene and sodium sulfate in N-methylpyrrolidone as a solvent.

Application
Auto intake manifolds and pumps, electrical connectors and circuit boards, flame-resistant clothing, valves, coatings, non-stick coatings, power tool parts and heater grills.
PPS can be sulfonated to form a proton exchange membrane with zeolite that can be used as an electrolyte with higher thermal stability which facilitates in the fabrication of solar cells.
GOLPANOL PPS can also be used in the formation of organic- inorganic nanocomposite membranes using nanozeolites and carbon nanotubes as nanofillers which can be used as high performance gas separation membranes.
PPS may be sulfonated and chloromethylated to form novel PPS fiber with higher dyeing ability in dispersive, anionic and cationic dyes.

Features and Benefits
High performance, linear thermoplastic.
Excellent thermal and chemical resistance, inherent flame resistance and superior electrical insulation properties.
