Hexahydrophtalic Anhydride (HHPA) belongs to a group of organic compounds called acid anhydrides. 
In component epoxy resins, Hexahydrophtalic Anhydride serve as hardeners, which bind covalently to 2 molecules, allowing polymerisation. 
Hexahydrophthalic Anhydride (HHPA) is a saturated dicarboxylic anhydride and will undergo most of the reactions typical of this class of compounds. 
Hexahydrophtalic Anhydride is supplied as a white low-melting solid (38°C) which is miscible with most organic solvents. 


In water, Hexahydrophtalic Anhydride hydrolyzes to hexahydrophthalic acid.
Hexahydrophthalic anhydride (HHPA) is a highly sensitizing industrial chemical that is known to covalently bind to endogenous proteins.
Hexahydrophthalic anhydride (HHPA) belongs to the family of acid anhydrides, the members of which are reactive organic chemicals of low molecular weight widely used in alkyd and epoxy resins.
