Hexatriacontylic acid, or hexatriacontanoic acid is a 36-carbon-long carboxylic acid and saturated fatty acid.
Hexatriacontylic acid, also known as hexatriacontylate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as very long-chain fatty acids.
These are fatty acids with an aliphatic tail that contains at least 22 carbon atoms.

Hexatriacontylic acid is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
Hexatriacontylic acid has been identified in human blood as reported by Hexatriacontylic acid is not a naturally occurring metabolite and is only found in those individuals exposed to this compound or Hexatriacontylic acid's derivatives.
Technically Hexatriacontylic acid is part of the human exposome.

The exposome can be defined as the collection of all the exposures of an individual in a lifetime and how those exposures relate to health.
An individual's exposure begins before birth and includes insults from environmental and occupational sources.

USES and APPLICATIONS of HEXATRIACONTYLIC ACID:
-Hexatriacontylic acid is a monomer of poly cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons that are found in wetlands.
-Hexatriacontylic acid can also find applications as a comonomer in the production of polyethylene.
-Hexatriacontylic acid is used as a paraffin wax and in candles.
-Hexatriacontylic acid is used as a key starting material for the preparation of lower alkanes by cracking.
-Hexatriacontylic acid is also used for example in road surfacing.
