In addition, Hydroxylammonium Sulphate is used in the production of cyclohexanone oxime or caprolactam.

Preparation
Hydroxylammonium Sulphate can be prepared by reducing acidified potassium nitrite (aka nitrous acid) with potassium bisulfite.

2 (KSO3)2NOH + 4 H2O → (NH3OH)2SO4 + 2 K2SO4 + H2SO4

PREPARATION METHOD OF HYDROXYLAMMONIUM SULPHATE:
methylethylketone is reacted with sulfuric acid and ammonia to form methylethylketone oxime, which is then reacted with sulfuric acid to obtain hydroxylamine sulfate (crystalline form) and methylethylketone and ammonium sulfate by-products by hydrolysis.

Sodium nitrite and ammonium bisulfite are mixed and reacted, sulfur dioxide is introduced at a low temperature to make the reactant absorb hydroxylamine disulfonate, and then hydrolysis is carried out to produce Hydroxylammonium Sulphate.
Hydroxylammonium Sulphate can also be obtained by reacting sulfuric acid with nitrohydrocarbons.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF HYDROXYLAMMONIUM SULPHATE:
Also Hydroxylammonium Sulphate, or HS, (NH2OH)2·H2S04 is colorless crystals that are soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol. 
The solution of Hydroxylammonium Sulphate has a corrosive action on the skin.

PREPARATION OF HYDROXYLAMMONIUM SULPHATE:
Hydroxylammonium Sulphate may be prepared by mixing stoichiometric amountsof hydroxylamine and sulfuric acid. 
Hydroxylammonium Sulphate also may be prepared by electrolytical-ly reducing an aqueous solution of ammonium sulfate.

DECOMPOSITION OF HYDROXYLAMMONIUM SULPHATE:
At 120 °C, Hydroxylammonium Sulphate begins to decompose to sulfur trioxide, nitrous oxide, water, and ammonia:
2 (NH3OH)2SO4 → 2 SO3 + N2O + 2 NH3 + 5 H2O

The reaction is exothermic above 138 °C, and is most exothermic at 177 °C.
Metals (especially copper, its alloys and its salts) catalyse the decomposition of Hydroxylammonium Sulphate. 
The instability of Hydroxylammonium Sulphate is mainly due to the hydroxylammonium ion's weak nitrogen to oxygen single bond.

SYNTHESIS OF HYDROXYLAMMONIUM SULPHATE:
Hydroxylammonium Sulphate is prepared industrially via the Raschig hydroxylamine process, which involves the reduction of nitrite with bisulfite. 
This initially gives hydroxylamine disulfonate, which is hydrolysed to Hydroxylammonium Sulphate.

Hydroxylammonium Sulphate can also be obtained by the acid-base reaction of hydroxylamine with sulfuric acid:
2 NH2OH(aq) + H2SO4(aq) → (NH3OH)2SO4(aq)
