Imwitor 948 is produced by the esterification of plant-derived glycerol with vegetable sourced fatty acids, chiefly oleic acid. 

Imwitor 948 is 100% natural, vegan and contains tocopherol as an antioxidant. 
Imwitor 948 is used in topical formulations as an emollient & conditioning agent and stabilizer & co-emulsifying agent for water-in-oil emulsions.

FORMULATION:

-Recommended concentration of Imwitor 948: 1 – 3 %
-Applicable for cold/cold, pre-emulsions, hot/cold/cold and hot/hot processes
-Add Imwitor 948 to the oil phase. Heat both oil and water phase to 70 – 80°C. 
-Either pour the water phase into the oil phase or vice versa, one-pot-systems are also possible. 
-Mix both phases, then homogenise for 1 – 3 minutes. 
-Cool the emulsion to room temperature under stirring and adjust pH value, if necessary, homogenise again.
-Recommended pH value: pH 4.0 – 7.0

USES:

Imwitor 948 is a mixture of water-loving and oil-loving ingredients, similar to other monoesters. 
Imwitor 948 can be used as an emulsifier to mix the oil and water phases. 

Imwitor 948 can be used as a surfactant that can adhere to oily impurities on skin and hair, and then wash off with water, making skin and hair clean. 
Imwitor 948 is also used as a thickener to enhance the bulk or volume of a product. 

Imwitor 948 can also restore the lost fat content of dry and damaged skin and hair as, as stated above, it is used as a refatting agent.
