IONOL 103

IONOL CP, IONOL 220, IONOL 103 and IONOL 99 are highly effective antioxidants for multigrade Iubricants, automatic transmission fluids, differential fluids and turbine oils.

Also IONOL antioxidants have shown to increase the useful life of many industrial oils, reducing equipment downtime. 
Applications include hydraulic fluids, transformer oils, spinning oils and metal rolling and cutting fluids.

IONOL 103 is registered under the REACH Regulation and is manufactured in and / or imported to the European Economic Area, at ≥ 100 to < 1 000 tonnes per annum.
IONOL 103 is used in articles, in formulation or re-packing, at industrial sites and in manufacturing.

IONOL antioxidants are excellent stabilizers for all grades of kerosene based Jet A1 fuel for civil and military use. 
The concentration needed to protect and stabilize aviation fuels is also defined by these international specifications. 
For example, DERD 2494 specifies an addition level in the range of 17.0 – 24.0 mg/L for hydrotreated fuels.

Uses of IONOL 103:

Uses at industrial sites of IONOL 103:
IONOL 103 is used in the following products: adhesives and sealants, pH regulators and water treatment products, coating products, metal surface treatment products, non-metal-surface treatment products, hydraulic fluids, lubricants and greases, metal working fluids, plant protection products and polymers.
IONOL 103 is used for the manufacture of: chemicals, rubber products, plastic products and machinery and vehicles.
Release to the environment of IONOL 103 can occur from industrial use: in processing aids at industrial sites, as processing aid, of substances in closed systems with minimal release, in the production of articles and as an intermediate step in further manufacturing of another substance (use of intermediates).

Formulation or re-packing of IONOL 103:
IONOL 103 is used in the following products: adhesives and sealants, pH regulators and water treatment products, plant protection products and polymers.
Release to the environment of IONOL 103 can occur from industrial use: formulation of mixtures and formulation in materials.

Characteristics of IONOL 103:
IONOL 103 is a pure grade of 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-N,N-dimethylamino-p-cresol. 
IONOL 103 is an ideal antioxidant for crankcase and diester synthetic lubricants, turbine oils and heavy-duty industrial oils.

Handling and Storage of IONOL 103:

Precautions for safe handling: 
Avoid breathing dust. 
Avoid dust production. 
Take precautionary measures against static discharge.

Hygiene measures: 
Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling. 
Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. 

Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. 
Do not eat, drink or smoke when using IONOL 103.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:

Technical measures: 
Proper grounding procedures to avoid static electricity should be followed. 
Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Storage conditions: 
Keep only in the original container in a cool, well ventilated place away from: 
acids and bases, Sources of ignition., Heat sources, Direct sunlight, Strong oxidizing agents. 
Keep container closed when not in use.

Incompatible products: 
Strong bases. 
Strong acids.

Incompatible materials: 
Sources of ignition. 
Direct sunlight.

Packaging materials: 
Paper bags with polyethylene liner. Fibre keg. Big-bag.

First Aid Measures of IONOL 103:

First-aid measures general: 
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. 
If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible).

First-aid measures after inhalation: 
Assure fresh air breathing. 
Allow the victim to rest.

First-aid measures after skin contact: 
Wash with plenty of soap and water. 

If skin irritation or rash occurs: 
Get medical advice/attention.
Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. 
Remove affected clothing and wash all exposed skin area with mild soap and water, followed by warm water rinse.

First-aid measures after eye contact: 
Rinse immediately with plenty of water. 
Obtain medical attention if pain, blinking or redness persist.

First-aid measures after ingestion: 
Rinse mouth. 
Do NOT induce vomiting. 
Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.

Firefighting Measures of IONOL 103:

Suitable extinguishing media: 
Foam. 
Dry powder. 
Carbon dioxide. 
Water spray.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: 
Do not use a heavy water stream.

Special hazards arising from IONOL 103 or mixture:

Fire hazard: On burning: release of carbon monoxide - carbon dioxide.

Advice for firefighters:

Firefighting instructions: 
Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers. 
Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire. 
Prevent fire-fighting water from entering environment.

Protection during firefighting: 
Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection.
