Packing of Isocetyl Behenate:
Handling, Transport and Storage of Isocetyl Behenate:
Isocetyl Behenate has a shelf life of 6 months starting from the dispatch date, if stored in the original, unopened containers at temperatures between 5 and 40°C and if stored and transported hygienically, avoiding frost and direct sunlight.
An indoor warehousing is highly suggested for product delivered in packed conditions.

Skins or lumps can be formed during storage and transport of the dispersion, due to Isocetyl Behenate film forming nature and weathering conditions.
A filtration or sieve process is recommended before further processing.

For bulk storage, regular stirring is suggested.
For IBCs or drums, product tends to film on the top of the surface of the packaging, therefore Isocetyl Behenate should be stored indoor, avoiding direct sunlight and carefully transported.

The dispersion contains some initial quantity of bactericide, according to the state of the art and to actual Regulatory laws.
However, Isocetyl Behenate is highly suggested to post-add further quantities of biocides to avoid problems with microorganisms, especially after the first opening of drums, IBCs, tanks or other storage facilities.
All tanks and pipework, as well as hoses and pipes of the tankers, should be kept adequately clean.

In case of storing in unstirred tanks, a layer of preservative-containing water should be sprayed onto the surface of the dispersion to prevent the formation of unwanted skins and possible attack by microorganisms.
Proper procedures, periodic tank cleaning and sanitization, must be set up in order to prevent microbial attack.

All water based finished products, manufactured from polymer dispersions, usually require preservation, too.
