Chemical Composition
The active ingredients found in Isocil PC are two isothiazolinones identified by the IUPAC system
of nomenclature as 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one.

Isocil PC vs. Competitive Isothiazolinone –
Shampoo Mixed Inoculum-Bacteria*

Stability
Isocil PC offers improved stability (in a citrate buffered solution) over the competitive
isothiazolinone due to a low level of impurities. Because of its low level of iron (evidenced by its
color clarity) Isocil PC provides greater stability due to the minimization of complexing with
ingredients such as citrate and citric acids.

Purity
So you’ve decided to formulate with isothiazolinones? Good choice. Why not choose the purest
form? Isocil PC. Lowest iron content and other impurities assures product integrity and safety,
potentially reducing the risk of irritation.
Toxicology and Safety
Isothiazolinones have been deemed safe in concentrations up to 15 parts per million; or 0.1%
Isocil PC in rinse-off products. This is based on mixtures containing 0.35% Methylisothiazolinone
and 1.15% Methylchloroisothiazolinone.
