Kerabase MB

KERABASE MB

Kerabase MB is a plant-based, multi-ingredient conditioning base developed by INOLEX, designed for use in hair care and personal care formulations. The INCI designation of the product is Brassica Alcohol (and) Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine (and) Polyester-11 (and) Aspartic Acid (and) EDTA, which combines structuring, conditioning, neutralizing and chelating ingredients within the same system, rather than a single active ingredient.
Kerabase MB is positioned as a quat-free conditioning system that can be an alternative to classical quaternary ammonium salts, especially in conditioners and hair care masks. The manufacturer states that the product can provide strong performance compared to traditional conditioning systems based on CTAC in terms of ease of combing, detangling, shine and softness of hair.
Kerabase MB is designed to be compatible with sulfate-free surfactants and mild cleansing formulas; making it suitable for modern "clean beauty" and low-irritation products. Kerabase MB can be used as a primary cream base, reducing the need for additional quats, fatty alcohols, and chelators; this makes formulation easier and increases batch-to-batch consistency.
Kerabase MB is used in chemical analysis, in the production of detergents and cleaning supplies, and for many other purposes.
One of the main conditioning ingredients of Kerabase MB is Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine. Derived from long-chain fatty acids originating from Brassica napus, this amidoamine acquires temporary cationic character by protonation under favorable acidic pH conditions and can be electrostatically bound to the negatively charged hair surface.
Kerabase MB is a complete conditioning base containing polyesteramine, amidoamine, fatty alcohol, chelating agent, and optimized neutralizing agent.
Kerabase MB exhibits exceptional scannability and detangling performance compared to commercial conditioning formulas.
Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine conditioning agent is derived from Brassica Napus seed oil and sustainably produced with a high efficiency process for consumer-friendly sustainability claims.
Kerabase MB contains polyesteramine, amidoamine, fatty alcohol, chelating agent, and an optimized neutralizing agent. Kerabase MB exhibits outstanding screenability and tangle dissolving performance.

Kerabase MB offers brightness and superior aesthetics.
Kerabase MB combines with emollients, water, preservatives, and label-claimed actives to produce hair care formulas. Typical usage levels range from about 6% to 15%, depending on the desired viscosity, richness, and conditioning density of the final product.
From a sustainability perspective, Kerabase MB is largely biobased, vegan, and readily biodegradable; most of its carbon content is derived from renewable plant sources such as rapeseed.
Kerabase MB is commonly used in conditioners, hair masks, co-wash products, curling creams, and emollient treatments where softness, glide, and manageability are critical performance goals. Because it is a pre-balanced system, it helps formulators achieve salon-like conditioning performance while maintaining softness and environmental harmony.
When combined, the fitness foundation provides fitness performance and shine in an easy-to-use format.
The second important conditioning component in Kerabase MB is Polyester-11. Polyester-11 is a polyesteramine and contributes to the hair surface through different molecular interactions on bonding, lubricity, shine and softness.
Kerabase MB also contains Brassica Alcohol. This structuring phase, consisting of long-chain fatty alcohols, contributes to the formation of lamellar liquid crystal structures in the formulation, supporting both viscosity and emulsion stability.
Kerabase MB is a pre-neutralized system. Aspartic acid helps amidoamine achieve the proper level of protonation, while EDTA binds metal ions, providing a chelating function in the formulation.

WHAT IS KERABASE MB?

Kerabase MB is a multi-component cosmetic raw material system developed for conditioning and emulsion structuring in hair and skin care formulations.
The product is not a single chemical molecule. Brassica Alcohol is a defined commercial blend consisting of the ingredients Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Polyester-11, Aspartic Acid and EDTA. Therefore, it is not technically correct to give a single molecular formula, a single molecular weight, or a single CAS number representing the whole mixture for Kerabase MB.
Kerabase MB's design approach is to combine fatty alcohol, cationic conditioning, neutralizing, and chelating ingredients used separately in traditional conditioner formulations into one off-the-shelf system.
Brassica Alcohol forms the fatty alcohol part that gives structure to the formulation. Fatty alcohols play an important role not only as thickeners in conditioners, but also in the formation of lamellar liquid crystal structures together with amidoamines.
Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine is one of the main conditioning ingredients of the product. This ingredient is a long-chain amidoamine derived from brassica fatty acids. According to INOLEX data, the fatty acyl distribution of Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine consists of approximately 34–40% stearoyl C18, 6–14% arachidoyl C20, and 45–50% behenoyl C22 segments. Long chains of C18–C22 hydrocarbons provide lubricating and emollient character on the hair surface. This long-chain structure can also help reduce friction between hair strands.
Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine is not a classic permanent quaternary ammonium compound. The amine group is protonated when the pH decreases and acquires a cationic character. According to the manufacturer, the cationic form of the amine becomes evident below pH 6.5. Since the surface of the hair fiber is negatively charged, especially in damaged areas, the protonated conditioning molecule can be electrostatically attracted to the hair. This transient cationic character is one of the main reasons why Kerabase MB is positioned quat-free.
Kerabase MB is supplied as solid flake fragments that melt into the water phase, usually around 70–75 °C during formulation; this allows the fatty alcohol and cationic components to self-assemble into lamellar structures that mimic the natural hair lipid layers.
These lamellar gel meshes evenly deposit into the hair fiber, improving glide, reducing friction between strands and significantly improving detangling performance after rinsing.
In its anionic form, Kerabase MB has six bonding atoms: two nitrogen and four oxygen.

Kerabase MB binds to a metal ion at six binding points, wraps around the metal ion, and forms a very stable complex. Ethylene diaminetetraacetic Acid's (EDTA) strong grip on the metal ion is similar to a crab or lobster getting stuck on an object with its paw; hence this name called chelation.
Kerabase MB is a very effective claying agent as it can deactivate the metal up to six points.
The key regulatory substance in Kerabase MB is brassicamidopropyl dimethylamine, canola-derived amidoamine that becomes cationic after neutralization with aspartic acid; which in turn provides strong electrostatic attraction to the negatively charged hair surface.
Brassica alcohol functions as a high-melting fatty alcohol, providing viscosity, structural stability, and a creamy sensory profile; contributing to rich texture and improved product spreadability.
Polyester-11 contributes to film formation and elasticity; enhances the definition of curls, moisture resistance, and overall hair feel without dense buildup.
Aspartic acid serves as the light organic acid that neutralizes amidoamine, forming the active conditioning salt in situ; this allows formulators to avoid harsher mineral acids.
Kerabase MB in the mixture chelates trace metal ions such as Fe³⁺ and Cu²⁺, which can catalyze oxidation reactions and destabilize preservatives, dyes, and fragrance components in the formulation.
By reducing metal ion activity, Kerabase MB also helps protect hair from discoloration and fiber damage associated with mineral deposits from hard water. Polyester-11 is the second high-performance conditioner in the product. This ingredient, with polyesteramine chemistry, can bond with hair through multiple interaction mechanisms. Polyester-11's non-cationic but amine-containing and ester-bearing structure can contribute to the formation of adhesions and a film-like conditioning layer on the hair surface.
The manufacturer associates the emolliency and gloss effect of Polyester-11 with ester chemistry, and its adhesion properties to hair with its amine character.
Aspartic Acid acts as a neutralizing acid within the system. Thus, the requirement for a separate neutralization step with lactic acid, citric acid or other acid can be reduced before amidoamine is used. EDTA is a chelating agent. It can contribute to the maintenance of product stability by binding trace amounts of iron, copper, calcium and other metal ions in the formulation. The control of metal ions is especially important in formulations with perfumes, colorants or herbal ingredients that are sensitive to oxidation.

CHEMICAL STRUCTURE AND MOLECULAR PROPERTIES OF KERABASE MB

Kerabase MB is a system of various functional components that complement each other instead of a single molecular structure.
Brassica Alcohol consists of long-chain fatty alcohols. Long hydrocarbon chains have hydrophobic character, while the hydroxyl group at the end provides limited polar property.
Fatty alcohol chains are arranged during cooling, contributing to the formation of lamellae and crystalline zones.
The Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine molecule has a long fatty acyl chain, amide linkage and dimethylamine group.
The long oil chain provides lubricity and softness on the hair surface.
The amide section gives the molecule a polar character and forms the chemical link between the chain and the amine function.
The dimethylamine group is the pH-sensitive part.
In a suitable acidic environment, the amine gains a positive charge by taking protons.
The keratin surface of the hair can carry a negative surface charge, especially in treated, oxidized or damaged areas.
The electrostatic attraction between the positively charged amidoamine and the negative hair surface helps to keep the conditioner on the hair.
This mechanism provides a hair surface attraction similar to that of classical permanent quaternary ammonium compounds, but the molecule does not have a continuous quaternary charge at all pH conditions.
Polyester-11 has a polyesteramine structure.
Ester functions in the molecule provide polar interactions.
Long alkyl segments can form a protective and emollient layer on the hair.

Amine properties can contribute to adhesion with hair.
INOLEX states that this combination combines ester characteristic emolliency and gloss and adhesion properties similar to classical amines.
Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine and Brassica Alcohol together can form lamellar liquid crystal structures in the emulsion.
Lamellar liquid crystal structures are structures in which regular lipid layers are organized alternately with layers of water.
Such structures are one of the important sources of both viscosity and conditioning in classic conditioners.
The lamellae structure provides the physical organization of water and the oil phase.
It can also affect the product spread on the hair and the character of the conditioning film that remains on the surface during rinsing.
Long-chain C18–C22 oil groups are decisive in the melting and structuring behavior of the system.

According to INOLEX data, the distribution of fat acyl in Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine is approximately:

34–40% Stearoyl C18

6–14% Arachidoyl C20

45–50% Behenoyl C22

It is at the levels.

A high proportion of C22 behenoyl may contribute to the product's rich conditioning character and strong lamellae structure.
Aspartic acid supports the amine group to become cationic by providing protons.
EDTA, on the other hand, does not directly create a conditioning mechanism with the hair; it regulates the chemical environment of the formulation by complexing metal ions.
The combination of these components is why Kerabase MB is described as a "conditioning chassis" rather than a single-function emulsifier or a single-conditioner.

The flake form of Kerabase MB can provide the advantage of less aeration in production compared to powder.
The flake form does not dissolve directly into water at room temperature. The manufacturer recommends adding the product to the water phase and mixing it at about 80 °C to make it homogeneous.
The softening/melting zone of about 63 °C is one of the physical parameters that explains why the production temperature is maintained above it.
Processing at around 80 °C facilitates the complete dissolution of the fatty alcohol structure and the homogeneous dispersion of the amidoamine/fatty alcohol system.
As the mixture cools, the lamellar structure may develop and the final viscosity may continue to rise over time.
Therefore, conditioner viscosity should be checked not only at the time of filling, but also 24–48 hours after production.
The exact pH value for Kerabase MB is not a single meaningful constant value in the solid form of the whole mixture. The pH of the final formulation should be measured separately and kept within the appropriate range for product performance.

HOW DOES KERABASE MB WORK AT THE MOLECULAR LEVEL?

The conditioning effect of Kerabase MB is not based on a single mechanism, but on the combined effect of electrostatic attraction, long-chain lipid interactions, lamellar structure formation, and polyesteramine adhesion.
The hair surface may bear a negative charge, especially as a result of shampooing, dyeing, lightener, heat treatment, or environmental damage.
Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine in Kerabase MB gains a positive charge by protonating under suitable low pH conditions.
This positive charge attracts the amidoamine molecule to the negative hair surface.
Once the molecule binds to the hair, the long chain of C18–C22 fat forms a hydrophobic and slippery layer on the surface of the hair shaft.
This layer can reduce the friction of the hair strands against each other.
Reduced friction helps reduce wet and dry dredging force.
Detangling can be opened more easily.
The hair surface can feel smoother.
The reduced mechanical friction on the cuticle surface can contribute to reducing the breakage that occurs during scanning.
Polyester-11 provides a second conditioning mechanism.
Ester bonds in the structure of polyesteramine can participate in secondary polar interactions with the hair surface.
The character of amine can promote adhesion.
Alkyl regions can form emollient and protective layer on the hair.
Instead of truly dissolving in the water phase alone, Brassica Alcohol melts during the hot process and forms an organized structure with amidoamine.
During cooling, the lamellar develops liquid crystals.
This lamellar phase affects both the creamy consistency of the product and its sensory character during use.
INOLEX states that these structures can help stabilize high amounts of oil phases and provide a soft, powdery, non-greasy feel.

The main functions of Kerabase MB at the molecular and formulation level are:

Providing cationic attraction to the hair surface

Holding on to negatively charged hair fibers

KERABASE MB'S CONDITIONER, HAIR MASK AND INTENSIVE CARE APPLICATIONS

Conditioners and hair care masks are the strongest application area of Kerabase MB.

Here are the possible functions of Kerabase MB in hair care applications:

Making it easier to comb the hair

Detangling

Reducing friction of hair strands

Providing softness

Improving lubricity

Adding shine

Improving hair feel

Carrying conditioning agent to damaged hair areas

Creating the cream structure

Supporting emulsion stability

Helping to transport the oil phase

Develop quat-free conditioner

Reducing production steps

Simplifying the neutralization process

In daily conditioner, Kerabase MB can be taken for laboratory screening at levels starting from around 6%.
For denser conditioner or hair mask products, the middle and upper part of the manufacturer's 6–15% recommendation range can be evaluated.
As the utilization rate increases, not only the conditioning effect but also the total fatty alcohol level and system viscosity increase.
For this reason, a formula containing 15% Kerabase MB and a formula containing 6% are different not only in terms of the amount of active conditioner, but also in terms of all lamellar phases.
In dense hair masks, additional vegetable oil, ester, butter or silicone alternative emollients can be added.
The lamellae system in Kerabase MB can help stabilize high oil loads.
However, increasing the amount of added oil excessively does not always mean that it will create a stable system.
Emulsion stability should be verified by accelerated stability tests.
In damaged hair products, it is important that conditioners adhere to the hair surface.
Since the damaged hair surface may be more negative, the electrostatic attraction of protonated amidoamines to these areas may increase.
This can be especially useful for combing performance on hair that has been damaged by dyeing, bleaching, or heat.
In curly hair care, it is important to reduce friction and separate the hair strand more easily.
Kerabase MB can be evaluated in this type of formulations thanks to its long-chain fatty alcohols and conditioning amines.
Leave-in applications may require a lower total oil load and a lighter sensorial profile.
It may not be appropriate to transfer the typical high usage rate of Kerabase MB in rinse-off systems to the leave-in product.
The actual level of use should be determined by laboratory screening and final product safety assessment.

USE OF KERABASE MB IN SKIN CARE, BODY CARE AND EMULSION APPLICATIONS

Kerabase MB can also be used in skin and body care systems.
The manufacturer clearly states skincare and body care applications among the product uses.
In these applications, the emulsion structure, emolliency and sensory profile become more important than electrostatic bonding to the hair surface.
Brassica Alcohol and Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine together can form lamellar liquid crystal structure.
These structures can strengthen the internal structure of the emulsion.
It can limit the physical movement of oil droplets.
It can contribute to the stabilization of the high oil phase.
When applied to the skin, the regular lipid layers can leave a soft and protective feeling.
INOLEX states that this system can create soft, powdery and non-greasy sensory profiles.
This feature can be especially evaluated in body creams that require a drier and powdery finish despite their heavy fat content.
In body care creams, Kerabase MB emollient can be used in combination with esters, vegetable oils or natural sensory emollients.
In dense hand creams and body butter-cream systems, the lamellar mesh can help maintain high fat levels.

IS KERABASE MB USED IN FOOD, COSMETICS AND PHARMACEUTICAL APPLICATIONS?

Kerabase MB is a commercial conditioning base mainly for cosmetic and personal care applications.

Cosmetic use is the main application area of the product.

The name INCI is clearly defined:

Brassica Alcohol

Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine

Polyester-11

Aspartic Acid

EDTA

It can be used in conditioners, hair masks, styling, skincare and body care products.
Kerabase MB is not a product that is directly positioned as a food additive or food ingredient.
The fact that some components of the product have individual uses in food or other industries does not mean that the entire Kerabase MB mixture is suitable for food use.
In the pharmaceutical sector, Kerabase MB is not positioned as a standard pharmaceutical excipient or active ingredient.
Aspartic acid or EDTA may have separate pharmaceutical uses, but this does not make Kerabase MB mixture pharmaceutical grade.
If pharmaceutical, medical or food applications are considered, a certificate of compliance with the target legislation should be requested from the manufacturer for the exact commercial product.
Even in cosmetic use, the safety assessment of the final formulation should be carried out separately.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS OF KERABASE MB

The industrial use of Kerabase MB is mainly based on the ease of process in cosmetics production and the combination of multiple raw materials in a single ready-made base.

The following functions may come to the fore in industrial Kerabase MB applications:

Creating a powdery and non-greasy feeling

Kerabase MB is added to the formulation via the water phase.
The manufacturer recommends heating to about 80 °C.
Mixing is continued until the flake structure is completely dissolved and the system is homogenized.
The emollients in the oil phase can be prepared in separate phase according to the process design or added at the appropriate stage.
Cooling should be controlled.
The development of the lamellar structure is closely related to the cooling process.
Cooling too quickly or inadequate mixing can lead to altered final texture and viscosity.
The finished product pH is important for the cationization of amidoamine.
Since the cationic character develops below pH 6.5, hair care systems are mostly designed in a slightly acidic region.

WHAT PROBLEMS CAN KERABASE MB HELP SOLVE?

Kerabase MB can help solve technical problems such as the use of too many raw materials, amidoamine neutralization, low combing performance and the need for alternatives to conventional quat systems, especially in the production of hair conditioners.

Difficult combing of hair when wet

Protonated Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine and Polyester-11 that bind to the negative hair surface can help reduce friction between hair strands.

Difficult opening of hair knots

Long chains of C18–C22 oil can form a lubricating layer on the surface of the hair, making it easier to detangle.

Insufficient shine in conditioner

Polyester-11 and long-chain emollient structure can contribute to making the hair surface look more uniform and shiny.

Formulation that does not want to use classic quat

Kerabase MB uses protonizable amidoamine and polyesteramine chemistry instead of a permanent quaternary ammonium conditioner.

It can therefore be considered for quat-free product positioning.

Process complexity in separate neutralization of amidoamine

Kerabase MB is a pre-neutralized system.

Since aspartic acid is present in the product as a neutralizer, separate acid dosing and neutralization processes can be reduced.

Using too many raw materials in conditioner

Fatty alcohol, amidoamine, polyesteramine, neutralizer and chelator are combined in the same system.

This can reduce inventory management and weighing steps.

Insufficient emulsion viscosity

Brassica Alcohol and amidoamine coverslips can contribute to product viscosity by developing liquid crystal structure.

Difficulty stabilizing the high oil phase

The lamellar structure can help in the physical stabilization of high fat load.

Feeling too oily in skin care cream

The lamellar structure specified by INOLEX can help develop a soft and powdery, non-greasy feel.

Heavy and oversiery feel in conditioner

A milder system can be developed by reducing the amount of Kerabase MB, additional emollients and total fatty alcohol level.

Not every performance problem can be solved by Kerabase MB usage rate alone.

Hair type, surfactant residue, pH, water hardness and other formula ingredients also affect the result.

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN USING KERABASE MB

Process temperature, final pH, usage rate and emulsion stability are the basic technical parameters in the use of Kerabase MB.

The following issues should be considered when using Kerabase MB:

Exact Kerabase MB grade must be verified.

Kerabase LC should not be confused with MB.

INCI should be checked.

The appearance of scales should be examined.

The color must be checked.

The range of manufacturer use should be considered.

Laboratory screening should be done in the range of 6-15% use.

The product must be added to the water phase.

It should be heated to about 80 °C.

The flake structure should be completely homogenized.

It should not be kept at high temperatures for an excessively long time.

The cooling profile should be checked.

The formulation pH should be followed.

The cationization behavior of amidoamine should be considered.

Performance below pH 6.5 should be evaluated.

The amount of additional fat should be optimized.

The protective system must be selected separately.

The presence of EDTA does not eliminate the need for preservatives.

Perfume compatibility should be tested.

Herbal active compatibility should be evaluated.

The electrolyte effect should be tested.

The final viscosity should be measured again after 24–48 hours.

A wet screening test should be performed.

A dry screening test should be performed.

Stability testing should be performed.

TDS should be examined.

SDS should be examined.

The COA should be checked.

Just because Kerabase MB is pre-neutralized does not mean that the finished product pH will automatically be appropriate.

Other acidic or basic ingredients can alter the final pH.

pH must be measured in the finished product for hair conditioning performance.

Kerabase MB is not a substitute for the preservative system in the formulation.

EDTA is not a microbial preservative; it is a chelating agent and can support the performance of some preservative systems.

ALTERNATIVES AND COMPARISON OF KERABASE MB

When choosing an alternative for Kerabase MB, the conditioner function should not be considered alone. Ionic structure, fatty alcohol content, process, pH behavior, biobased content and final hair feel should be considered together.

KERABASE MB AND KERABASE LC MB

Kerabase MB and Kerabase LC MB are in the same brand family, but their composition is not the same.

Kerabase MB:

Brassica Alcohol

Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine

Polyester-11

Aspartic Acid

EDTA

includes.

If Kerabase LC MB:

Cetearyl Alcohol

Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine

Aspartic Acid

system.

The important difference of Kerabase MB is that it contains Polyester-11.

This second conditioning ingredient can provide additional performance on emolliency, gloss and adhesion to the hair.

Kerabase LC MB can be considered as a simpler and cost-oriented conditioning base.

Laboratory comparison should be made without replacing the two products directly in the same amount.

KERABASE MB AND BTMS-50

BTMS-50 is the classic cationic conditioning base, usually containing fatty alcohol with Behentrimonium Methosulfate.
In the BTMS system, conditioning takes place over the permanent quaternary ammonium group.
Kerabase MB, on the other hand, uses a quat-free approach.
Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine acquires transient cationic charge at the appropriate pH.
Kerabase MB also contains Polyester-11, providing a second conditioning mechanism.
BTMS-50 provides very common and strong conditioner structure, while Kerabase MB can provide an advantage in natural origin and quat-free positioning.
The two products should not be substituted one-to-one by weight.

KERABASE MB AND CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE (CTAC)

Cetrimonium Chloride is a classic permanent quaternary ammonium conditioner.
CTAC maintains its positive charge over a wide pH range.
Amidoamine in Kerabase MB shows cationic behavior only when protonated.
INOLEX compares the conditioning and screening performance of Kerabase MB with CTAC systems and claims superior performance.
However, Kerabase MB is not a single conditioner active, but a complete conditioning base that also contains fatty alcohol and other auxiliary ingredients.
Therefore, a direct comparison should not be made with CTAC on a gram basis.

KERABASE MB AND BEHENTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE

Behentrimonium Chloride is a long-C22 chain permanent quaternary conditioner.
It can provide strong substantivity and ease of scanning.
The Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine component of Kerabase MB also contains a high percentage of C22 behenoyl chain, but the amine chemistry is not quat.
Kerabase MB offers a different formulation option with a more natural origin and transient cationic charge approach.
Both systems can form a lamella conditioner structure, but the process and pH requirements are not the same.

KERABASE MB AND STEARAMIDOPROPYL DIMETHYLAMINE

Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine is a classic amidoamine conditioner.
It is usually formulated together with fatty alcohol and acid.
Kerabase MB is a multicomponent version of the same general chemical approach with longer chains of C18–C22 brassica, readily containing Polyester-11, fatty alcohol, acid, and EDTA.
The use of Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine alone gives the formulator greater ratio control.
Kerabase MB offers the advantage of ease of process and ready-made system.

KERABASE MB – TECHNICAL SUMMARY

Kerabase MB is a plant-based multi-ingredient conditioning base developed by INOLEX designed for hair and personal care products. The name INCI is Brassica Alcohol (and) Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine (and) Polyester-11 (and) Aspartic Acid (and) EDTA.
Kerabase MB is not a single chemical compound. It combines two conditioners, a fatty alcohol structurer, a neutralizer, and a chelating agent within the same commercial system.
Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine is amidoamine that carries long C18–C22 fatty acyl chains. According to manufacturer data, it has a distribution of approximately 34–40% C18, 6–14% C20 and 45–50% C22. Amidoamine can gain a positive charge by protonating below pH 6.5. This temporary cationic structure binds to the negatively charged hair surface and contributes to combing, detangling and softness performance. Polyester-11 is a polyesteramine and gives Kerabase MB a second conditioning mechanism. Ester and alkyl structures can contribute to emolliency and shine, and amine character can contribute to adhesion to the hair surface.
Brassica Alcohol coverslips help form a liquid crystal structure. This structure is important for emulsion viscosity, stabilization of high oil loads, and soft, powdery, non-greasy sensory profile.
Aspartic Acid provides pre-neutralization and contributes to formulation stability by chelating EDTA metal ions. INOLEX recommends a usage rate of 6–15% for Kerabase MB. It is recommended to add the product to the water phase, heat it to about 80 °C and mix until homogeneous. The main applications are conditioners, hair care masks, hair styling, skin care and body care products.
The manufacturer describes Kerabase MB as quat-free, pre-neutralized and a naturally derived system from Brassica napus. The current product page lists 95% USDA certified biobased content, Natural Origin Index 0.9, biodegradable, vegan & cruelty-free, Halal Certified, Kosher Compliant and RSPO Mass Balance Certified properties.
When purchasing Kerabase MB, exact grade ID, INCI, Product Bulletin, SDS, COA and, if necessary, Technical & Regulatory Dossier should be checked. Kerabase should not be considered as the same product as conditioning bases such as LC MB or BTMS-50.
Companies planning to procure Kerabase MB from Ataman Kimya are recommended to confirm the current product and offer conditions by sharing the final application, target usage rate, pH, quat-free requirement, natural origin and certification expectations, packaging quantity and technical document needs.

KERABASE MB

Ürünün INCI tanımı Brassica Alcohol (and) Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine (and) Polyester-11 (and) Aspartic Acid (and) EDTA şeklindedir ve tek bir aktif maddeden ziyade yapılandırıcı, kondisyonlayıcı, nötrleştirici ve şelatlayıcı bileşenleri aynı sistem içinde bir araya getirir.

Üreticinin verdiği bilgilere göre aminin katyonik formu pH 6,5'in altında belirgin hale gelir.

Dimetilamin grubu pH'a duyarlı bölümdür.

%34–40 Stearoyl C18

%6–14 Arachidoyl C20

%45–50 Behenoyl C22

seviyelerindedir.

C22 behenoil oranının yüksek olması ürünün zengin kondisyonlama karakterine ve güçlü lameller yapısına katkıda bulunabilir.
Aspartik asit proton sağlayarak amin grubunun katyonik hale gelmesini destekler.

Amin karakteri adezyonu destekleyebilir.

Bununla birlikte eklenen yağ miktarının aşırı yükseltilmesi her zaman stabil sistem oluşturacağı anlamına gelmez.
Kerabase MB'nin rinse-off sistemlerdeki tipik yüksek kullanım oranının aynen leave-in ürüne aktarılması uygun olmayabilir.

INOLEX bu sistemin soft, powdery and non-greasy sensory profil oluşturabildiğini belirtmektedir.

Cilt bakım kreminde fazla yağlı his

INOLEX'in belirttiği lameller yapı yumuşak ve pudramsı, yağlı olmayan bir his geliştirilmesine yardımcı olabilir.

Saç kreminde ağır ve kaplayıcı his

Her performans problemi yalnızca Kerabase MB kullanım oranıyla çözülemez.

Saç tipi, yüzey aktif madde kalıntısı, pH, su sertliği ve diğer formül bileşenleri de sonucu etkiler.

KERABASE MB VE KERABASE LC MB

Kerabase MB ile Kerabase LC MB aynı marka ailesinde yer alır ancak bileşimleri aynı değildir.

Kerabase MB:

Brassica Alcohol

Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine

Polyester-11

Aspartic Acid

EDTA

içerir.

Kerabase LC MB ise:

Cetearyl Alcohol

Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine

Aspartic Acid

EDTA

INCI adı Brassica Alcohol (and) Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine (and) Polyester-11 (and) Aspartic Acid (and) EDTA şeklindedir.
Amidoamin pH 6,5'in altında protonlanarak pozitif yük kazanabilir.
